Wasted a year of my time and money on scleral lenses. The lenses hurt my eyes, leaving them terribly bloodshot. He told me they were fine and that my eyes didn't look red to him. I immediately went to a different optometrist who was recommended by local surgery office. He examined my eyes with the lenses that Dr Prete fitted. He told my they are way too tight. I called Prete's office for refund which they refused. So I have an expensive pair of sclerals sitting in my drawer. I do not recommend Prete for Scleral Lens fitting.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am genuinely sorry to hear about the dissatisfaction you've experienced with the scleral lenses under my care. My primary goal is always to provide care that meets the unique needs of each patient, and I regret that I fell short of this goal for you. It's concerning to me that your lenses were not working for you, and I truly appreciate you bringing this to my attention.

On the matter of the refund, I can understand your frustration for having a pair of expensive lenses that cannot be worn. Please remember that the strict 90-day policy regarding refunds is openly communicated upfront and agreed to before embarking on scleral lens fitting to ensure that all patients have a clear understanding of what to expect. Hence, unfortunately we were unable to accommodate your request as you requested a refund one year later. These policies are in place to cover the costs of custom-made medical devices, which are designed and ordered to meet each patient's specific needs. While I strive to achieve the best possible outcome for every patient, unfortunately, it's challenging to guarantee complete satisfaction for every unique case due to the highly personalized nature of scleral lenses.
Again, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm deeply sorry for your frustration and inconvenience.

I saw Dr. Prete at Kennedy eye clinic. The clinic was beautiful and the staff were awesome (Katie did my contact training and she was great!) it was a great overall experience! Dr. Prete is very knowledgeable and explained everything in a way I could understand. Excited to have found my new eye doctor!

Dr. Prete is very approachable, knowledgeable and caring. He takes the time to address all concerns of a patient. He also makes sure the patient is always comfortable. His staff are very friendly as well.

Dr. Prete was very knowledgeable, approachable and professional! Dr. Prete’s approach is genuine and sincere, working for his patients to achieve their best eye health. He took the time to explain things, answer all questions, and followed up the following day. Dr. Prete was able to diagnose a condition that three other Optometrist’s missed over the course of 4 years. Would highly recommend Dr. Prete, and looking forward to seeing him in the future.

Biography

I have been practicing optometry in Saskatoon since 2017. My interest in medical and surgical conditions of the eye and contact lens fitting for medical reasons led me to spend the majority of my career so far in specialist practices from Miami to Saskatoon. Thanks to the global COVID-19 pandemic, I've come to appreciate the in-person connections with the people I take care of and look forward to being able to connect with people in my new practice, The Eye Studio YXE.
