Terrible terrible person, would go out of her way to humiliate Me by making me get weight in front of people and then read off my weight after it was her idea to put me on risperidone which causes weight gain and gynecomastia something I was extremely sensitive about.

She also believed marijuana can cause weight gain (not true it speeds up your metabolism), claimed marijuana would cause psychosis but put me on stimulant drugs that actually caused me to be put in a psych ward because I have a bad reaction to stimulant drugs.

Not to mention her staff on more than one occasion forgot to call me to tell me my appointment was canceled because they called another one of her patients whose last name sounds vaguely similar to my first name and they assumed we were the same person because her and her staff are extremely incompetent people

Thanks to the way she made me feel about my weight I attempted suicide multiple times in my youth

Not once did she ever bring up giving me an anti-anxiety medication that would actually help me because if it wasn't an antidepressant that made me feel like a zombie /robot she wanted to give me amphetamines despite the fact that every time I have taken an amphetamine drug I cry uncontrollably for days because so uncomfortable

She's not be practicing medicine and she's a horribly cruel person.

I really hope this "doctor" isn't practicing anymore. She shouldn't be allowed near children let alone be allowed to treat them. When I was her patient she used me as a guinea pig for different medications, some that weren't even approved for use in children. When nothing worked and she couldn't come up with a diagnosis she just drugged me so heavily that I couldn't function and would just sit in a corner drooling. For 3 years. She completely ignored the fact that my medication was making my hair fall out even though it's a well known side effect. 17 years later and I'm just starting to uncover all the trauma caused by this "doctor".

I took my 7 year old son to Dr. Cherland years ago to see if he was on the Autism Spectrum. After spending 30 - 40 minutes alone with him she said he was not. Now, so many years later, there are clear signs that he is indeed on the spectrum. She could have helped him while he was young, he would have had supports in place for school, therapy, etc. As parents we would have had support. Dr. Cherland you failed us terribly, you failed my son. He has no relationships outside of our small family, is unable to work or go to school (he also suffers from severe social anxiety and now since Dr. Boane retired does not see a doctor) instead of dealing with my son you delved into my husband (now ex, partially due to the difficulties with my son) and my relationship. I trusted your professional judgement and my son has paid the price. Be very wary when dealing with this doctor. I think she has too much going on and does not pay enough attention to her patients. I realize ASD, especially high functioning, can be elusive to diagnose but I mistakenly believed in her. I give you a 0/5 Dr. Cherland, you permanently damaged a life.

Wow this review is a long time coming and very overdue. Dr. Cherland never properly diagnosed my 10 year old son with anxiety and this resulted in him having an extremely difficult time in school and then high school. Medications and counselling along with accomodations based on his diagnosis could have helped him succeed in his later school years. She brushed him off as having odd (which he never did) and no autism. Okaaaaay so what is the problem doc?? Useless dr who should just retire.

My son and I have been seeing her for years. She is a wonderful doctor and really takes the time to get to know the child and check all avenues before coming to a decision (unlike some doctors that want to quickly label children with disorders).

She is an awesome Dr. My son has seen her since he was 5 months old. She has helped me and my son overcome so many difficult issues that he and I have faced. She has helped me to keep a good relationship with my son. I don't know where we would be without her. She is the best!!

Rushed, overwhelmed, forgetful and untrustworthy. She never took the time in several appointments to know our child and often mixed her up with other patients. She communicated very poorly with us and was unreliable when it come to doing things she said she would do (Sending letters, making phone calls etc). We were very disappointed and found help elsewhere after 3 months.

She is sensitive and caring in addition to being a wonderful Dr. Our family needed someone like Dr.C in order for us to cope with our daughters' diagnosis! We love her!

She is the top in her field. My son has been with her since he has been an infant. Not only has she been helpful with him, but helpful with me and the rest of my family.
