Better stay home, rather to sit emergency long long long hours trusted return home, staff will tell You no bed is available even Your does not support You long hours sitting, It looks joke when Government say free health, It is Free health with zero care in emergency, always shortage of Doctors and Nurses, rude staff, I saw better service And Care even in 3rd World countries in emergency than here in Ruh
Apart from what other people are saying, my one month stay here was good. I was treated very well and I appreciate all the staff that work here. The food was as expected, it is a hospital after all not a five star restaurant. I just wish I could get in touch with the people that took care if me so can properly thank them and tell them how they changed my life.
Hate going here. Nowhere to eat that is decent in the place. The "cafeteria" has gross microwaved food - my 2 year old wouldn't even eat their gross microwaved hot dogs. One of the patients told me while I was waiting in line that the food there was better then what they serve the patients. That scares me. How disgusting. That's no way to feed sick people at the hospital. They should be ashamed of themselves. So disappointed that this is where the children's hospital is going to be. Hope we never have to stay there again. Which is probably unlikely when you have a sick child who needs to see specialists that can only be seen here.
My mom was recently admitted to hospital, and was transferred to Royal University in Saskatoon from Flin Flon Manitoba. I was with her from the days she was admitted and until her death. From what I saw when I was with her never leaving her side, was unjust. She couldn't have heart surgery for reasons that was told by her Dr. But the nurses there were treating her so poorly. Plus they never checked her file, they didn't know she was a diabetic and couldn't have surgery. The nurses kept telling her to get up and move. Every time they did that she was very stressed. What I couldn't figure out was that if they looked at here chart they wouldn't have made her stress like that. In my feelings for this hospital is not a very good one. I could have had my mother at least a few more months with what I know now, I really think this hospital KILLED my mother.
Very Disappointed. I wasted 7 hours in the emergency. I went into RUH Emergency for 10:00 A.M. appointment. for a spinal tap. Once completed I was told I had to wait 20 min from the first doctor then 30 min from a nurse. After waiting in the room for over 2 hours I was finally allowed to leave to a bed in the hallway. I asked if I could wait in the waiting room because there was a TV in this room, instead of laying in a bed in the hallway. Before I left the room and because the wait time was so long I started looking around the room for cleanliness. If I would have noticed this first I would never have allowed them to do a spinal tap on me. The fresh air vent had about 1/2 inch of dust on the vents. The floor had layers of dirt in the corners I am sure this has been like this for a long period of time. I talked to a lady in Customer Relations about this. She said they are actually cleaning the fresh air vents as we spoke on the phone. Hopefully they do all the rooms especially the rooms where they need to do procedures. I was talking to someone that has knowledge on the cleaning protocols from senior centers and they do what is called an A clean once a week! Why would a hospital not have at least this type of protocol in their location? After waiting until 4:30 PM the doctor said I could go and here was a number for me to call. Why could they not just have phoned me this information instead of making me wait this long? I got to my car, paid my parking and once I got out onto College Dr. I noticed a ticket under my wiper blade. Really insult to injury. I went back to the hospital to inquire about this ticket to the parking Attendant. All he had to say was they are not responsible for the ticket the University of Saskatoon is. If I would have know this was a third party parking lot, I would have parked there. I brought this up to the lady in Customer Relations and she said they have just changed the way they look after tickets. If I have a complaint or think I received a ticket in error I could get a form emailed/mailed to me. Of course adding these extra steps turns out to be extra work to the public. I am sure this was implemented to have more people just say forget it and pay the fine. If they would have been more organized I would have been gone way before the ticket was even given. The ticket said I was parked in the driving lane. I backed into the stall to make it easier for when I leave. Stats state that backing in is safer and less of a chance of an accident when leaving. I could not back my vehicle up any more and get out of the vehicle without hitting the cement pillar. I hope this review reaches as many people as possible because very little was done to resolve these issues. Maybe the rooms may be cleaned this week but will they step up their cleaning abilities or go back to the filth the room was in after a week or so?
