I started seeing Dr. Henstock a few years ago. I have a compromised immune system which when I get sick it's very critical I get on the right medication to help prevent me from ending up in the hospital and every time I have gone in to see him with concerns he has always taken the time to listened to me, thorough in examine me and prescribing right medication. My only disappointment is that I cannot have him as my family doctor as he is not taking any new patients. I drive from White Rock to see him because he is well worth it.

I went into the clinic with a fever and flu symptoms. Dr. Henstock saw me. I told him I was really concerned about my symptoms because I’m 16 weeks pregnant. He did a brief check, not even checking my vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, etc) even though I complained of a rapid heart rate. Then, he prescribed me antibiotics for sinusitis. I asked him how he could give me antibiotics without confirming a diagnosis first. He ignored me and refused to answer any of my questions professionally. I was distraught when I left and made sure the pharmacists helped me out. He is a horrible GP.
The next day, I went to the hospital because my symptoms had not improved since taking two doses of the antibiotics and my fever and heart rate were still high. The doctor in the ER was appalled that he gave me antibiotics. She said he couldn’t have diagnosed sinusitis on day one of my illness because of the specific symptoms that arise (localized pressure and pain in the face - which I did NOT have). She said he was completely wrong and told me to stop taking the antibiotics immediately. Why weaken my immune system for no reason?! And that’s exactly what I had questioned at Dr. Henstock’s office.

Avoid this doctor if you can, unless you have mild symptoms or just need a prescription. He doesn’t listen or respect his patients concerns or wishes.

As a HCP myself, I found him to be utterly dismissive and aloof without actually acknowledging anything I had to say about MY BODY and my symptoms. He is about as receptive as a man who is hard of hearing and hard of sight who doesn't know he's being spoken to. Clearly, he is either experiencing burnout or has lost all compassion left in his heart. Go on vacation, a listening seminar, or retire! People don't like wasting their time in walk-in clinics for that type of care.

Nothing but good things to say about Dr Henstock.I found he does listen and is complete with his work.I had a heart skip or so it seemed.I was given a complete check up with blood work as well as a referral to a cardiologist.Nicole and Michelle at reception are great too.I would have no issues sending anyone to him

My daughter went to the Clinic as had symptoms of strep throat. As she is prone to it, she was very well aware of the symptoms. Dr Hendrik told her after a 2 second look at her throat, that she did not have strep. She is highly allergic to penicillin. He tried to prescribe her antibiotics with penicillin 3 times after she kept telling him she can't have it. We proceeded to Shoppers Drug Mart for the strep throat test and it was positive. The worst part was him not listening when she told him about her allergy.

I have seen him for approximately 3 years now. On several occasions he has given me the wrong dose for my medications. It means I have to be very diligent in checking before I leave his office, which is difficult when he has one foot out the door as he is talking to you!
