He's a very uncaring doctor that shows no compassion for his patients. My wife has been a patient of his for 7 years and would only let him give her niece shots and he has missed the right place in her knee several times and caused her much pain. I don't know why she wouldn't leave she just kept going back even though he kept treating her badly. He kept changing her medicine to a cheaper medication to please her insurance company although the medicine that she used in the beginning worked perfectly well for her. She's had allergic reactions to some of the shot medication that he used. She is now limping around the house cuz she can barely walk after her shot yesterday and she went into his office and he treated her like he was very angry at her because she was in pain. She's only asked him one time for pain medicine and 7 years and didn't ask him for pain medicine just ask for her other medicine for her knees. He said no and sent her away hurting and in pain. I would not advise using this doctor.

I agree with the gentleman that said he is a real prick. He has no compassion or mercy for his patients. He has hit a nerve in my knee several times and caused me great pain on numerous occasions. He screws up and then acts like the patient is crazy. I have only used him for knee shots and wouldnt dare let him perform surgery on me for he rarely would give me pain medicine.. He keeps changing my knee shot medicine because it saves the insurance company money but it huts me. I have been taking knee shots for 7 years and euflexxa works great for me but he insist on changing it to the cheap stuff that hurts me, Every time he changes my medicine I suffer. I was given a shot yesterday and he used a different medication on me again and I cant even walk around my house. He hit a nerve but wont admit it, I begged him to change it back to euflexxa but he refused. He would not budge a inch. He even acted angry because I came in walking on a cane. I am in real pain and it is his fault and he will not do anything to help me. I am very angry with this Doctor. He does not care about his patients. He is on a major ego trip and I will never step foot in his office again. He just lost a patient. I pray to God that he would be put in the position of his patients and maybe he would have some compassion.

My experience with Daryl Dykes is very similar to the others that I have read here. When he screwed up, I found another surgeon to correct his mistake. His staff never contacted me after surgery. I really think that he knew that he had made a horrible mistake. I'm sure that they didn't want to hear from me, maybe fearing repercussions.

Dr Dykes made immediate diagnosis on my shoulder after seeing xrays and MRI. Treated me with a shot into the affected area and have had no problems since. He advised that I may need additional shots but up until now (3months ago) I’ve had no problems.

Dr. Dykes put me through costly diagnostics and eventually told me there was nothing he could do for my 2 spinal fractures, referred to pain management, would take several weeks to get appointment. In meantime, he prescribed 7.5 mg hydrocodone. He had access to all my records and could plainly see that I have not had a Rx for pain meds in over 26 years. When I told him I could not take hydrocodone due to headaches, upset stomach, etc. he ripped up Rx and gave me nothing. Nurse apologized profusely for his behavior and said, "He gets that way and digs in his heels." He did not listen and certainly did not have a patient's best interest at heart. Also, charges $35 for tardiness or missed appointment, yet keeps you waiting over an hour. I was profiled by Dr. Dykes and staff. They saw a patient who is very underweight, needs dental work and obviously in pain; not bothering to ask how I got that way, which was taking care of my father with Alzheimer's for the past few years, letting myself go. They judged me as a drug-seeker solely on my appearance. Luckily, my primary knows my situation, has all my medical records, and knows that is the opposite of who I am.

Am very disappointed at this point . Did not educate me on what to expect and when I kept having pain he said that he told me prior to the surgery what to expect . Very afraid I'm already in this deep with hm . Will never use him again

Dr. Dykes is a rude prick. He is arrogant and treats his staff poorly in front of patients. I would not recommend anyone to him. He might know what he is doing as far as treating patients but he doesn't know how to treat people with kindness and respect and how to treat people in life I'm general. He is apparently a military man and he likes to flaunt that. He is a jerk.

Dykes bungled my broken wrist surgery - two other competent orthopedic surgeons later confirmed that - and one was in his own practice! Put a plate in on the wrong side and used the wrong plate. Never saw him after surgery - as noted above, he palmed me off on someone else, who tried to rehab a terrible job. In fact, after surgery Dykes stated it was a more complicated job than he thought and I needed a wrist specialist. Why didn't he stop the surgery and get the person I needed? $20 copay 3 time/wk for 3 months of rehab and no better. Plates came loose, accompanied by lots of pain. After doing much research found someone who managed to restore the use of my hand and wrist and return it to almost normal appearance. I wish I had researched before letting him put a scapel on me. It would have saved me much pain and unnecessary expenditures. Look elsewhere for a competent surgeon.
