Biography
Dr. Loren James specializes in General Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy, including treatment of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. Dr. James joined Lemak Sports Medicine in 2013 following his Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine fellowship at New Mexico Orthopaedics. Dr. James, a cum laude graduate and Chemistry major of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, where he participated in intercollegiate football, obtained his Medical Doctorate from The University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 2007. He was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi Medical/Honor Societies for ranking in the top percentile of his medical school class. Dr. James then completed his surgical internship and Orthopedic residency in Kentucky. During his time there, he served as Chief Resident for The University of Kentucky Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Dr. James is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association. His professional society memberships include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Previously, Dr. James supplied team coverage to Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School and Tates Creek High School while in Kentucky, as well as to athletes of The University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, Transylvania University and Georgetown College. He also assisted Manzano High School and El Dorado High School in New Mexico, provided team coverage for the Albuquerque Isotopes, AAA affiliate of MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers, and cared for athletes of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has provided his medical expertise in all types of sports, including football, soccer, baseball and equestrian games. Dr. James plays an active role in Prattville (the location of our newest clinic) and the surrounding area through various community and civic activities. He dedicates his time as Team Physician for local middle and high schools, serves as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and extends his medical knowledge through speaking engagements. Dr. James spends his spare time collecting sports memorabilia, participating in intramural athletics, watching sports, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also enjoys whitewater rafting, snorkeling, scuba-diving, shark-cage diving, snow skiing, hiking the national parks and international traveling.

He did surgery to get a cyst off my finger and it came out bent in half. It cause me lots of pain and never went back. He was shocked himself when he saw it. Years of pain I saw another surgeon who had to straighten itto stop pain. It would twist in it's in causing more pain. He did not know what he was doing when he did the surgery. He said he shaved the bone too far down.
