Dr Durand is an amazing doctor. My daughter came to get a second opinion . She explains things thoroughly and is kind and compassionate. I am so happy that we got a referral to see her. She really takes her time in explaining things and ensures that we understood everything. She has given us a peace of mind . My daughter and I are very comfortable with her and are so grateful to have been referred to her . She is a true professional . Thank you Dr Durand

Dr. Durant is rude, arrogant and mean with no bedside manners I had an ultrasound result that worried me and my family doctor was away so I asked my doctor’s replacement to set up a gynaecologist appt. I was in a lot of pain and bleeding very heavily and was concerned about ovarian cancer. Dr. Durant told me that by the time they found ovarian cancer it would be too late anyway and then said what do you want me to do open you up? She also said if I could shop around for doctors she could shop around for patients and she didn’t want me. She looked me up and down like I was a piece of dirt and left the room. I sat there for a few minutes not knowing what had happened or what to do. I went to the washroom and cried, I felt like I had been assaulted. Horrible experience, horrible woman who wore shorts, a tank top and flip flops to the appointment. I told my neighbour about my appointment and she couldn’t believe it as she had a similar experience with her and ended up crying, as did my sister-in-law. I’m so glad to have found this forum, I can finally let it go.

Dr Durant is great. She performed my first Colposcopy as well as a subsequent LEEP. Both times she was patient and kind and explained things step by step so I knew what was coming next. Both procedures were almost painless for me and they were each over quickly. She was punctual as well. I’m so grateful she was my doctor!

Dr. Durand is amazing! I’m highly anxious with medical procedures and she was very understanding, kind, and completely put me at ease. I’ve never had such a positive experience at a gyno. She was lovely and knowledgeable, I highly recommend!

I saw Dr. Durand twice a year for 5 years for ongoing screening after having had been diagnosed with cervical cancer and then a LEEP procedure to treat (not done by her, but that gynecologist was terrible and was the reason I sought out a different one for ongoing care). Dr. Durand was very patient, explained everything about the diagnosis I had and anything I should be aware of/look out for moving forward. She was incredibly welcoming and kind and made getting a colposcopy every 6 months as comfortable as you can make that. I can see how she could be perceived as blunt, however I appreciated that she would just get to the point, but also she'd do it with empathy and she would always answer any questions I had. In terms of punctuality, she wasn't always right on time, but she was never too far behind. I honestly won't ever go to another gynecologist as long as she is practicing, even though she's a 1.5 hour drive (one way) from me!

I never recommend her to anybody else. She's very rough she's very unfriendly and not professional. It was worse experience to see her. She never explained anything.

I've seen Dr. Durand a number of times in the past decade. This was after I'd been to a number of other OBGYNs who were rough, rude, and dismissive.
Dr. Durand was a welcome change.
She is knowledgeable, very gentle, compassionate, and kind. I remain forever grateful for her helpful advice and treatments, which continue to impact my life positively.

Dr. Durand was one of the best Women's reproductive health doctors I have seen. Knowledgeable, answers all your questions and seems to really care. I have been looking for someone like her in BC to no avail!

I came to Dr. Durand after a horrible experience at Women's College Hospital that left me in tears and partially traumatized. Before the appointment, Dr. Durand asked me why i was there and why I'd transferred, without judgement. She listened attentively and really heard my concerns. She told me that there are different sizes of speculums, and that because I was young, had never given birth and was not overweight, that a smaller speculum would work better. She told me to breathe deeply and explained every part of the process and what I was feeling.

Afterwards, she answered all my questions calmly and she was very reassuring. I have even donated in her name.
