I liked Alma a lot. Good doctor. I am not sure why we were sent to another Dr for the surgery (we thought we were going to her for a pre surgical appt). I would call to ask ahead what to expect. That being said THE RECEPTIONIST IS AWFUL!!! Her energy is mean and petty and argumentative and unsupportive. I would actually NOT go back because she is so mean. Luckily we are going to another surgeon so it all worked out. Alma, talk to your receptionist! She's not good for your business!! She might need therapy or yoga or a day off or a massage or something?

On time and extremely friendly. Hearing staff is great with the children. My son had tubes with her a few years ago and has been followed by her. Shes very informative and helpful. Compassionate and sweet. My son just loves her. Stephanie (receptionist) she is a very good receptionist and on point with all that she does. I have never had an issue with her. Every time i read a comment about her i laugh because she does deal with a lot and has to focus on her work. She isn't there to chit chat and make friends. some people are too hard on her. i like her very much.

She is informative, friendly and good with kids. She is on time, which is a big deal because I have to take time off work. The testing staff were also good with my son and patient. The receptionist, while efficient could stand to take a course in client services. She cut me off in mid-sentence and talked right over me...not just once. In person and by phone. She reminded me of the "soup bully" from Seinfeld.

DR. Smitheringale is a very good surgeon and ENT. She is conservative with treatment and eased my worries when my daughter needed ear tubes. It seems that she only spends the allotted 15 min with you but that being said she is always on time usually. Unfortunately, the receptionist is curt, cold and not friendly. I am sure she is organized and runs the office well but when working with families you have to be patient and kind. I find this unfortunate that this is acceptable.

I feel lucky to be referred to Dr. Smitheringale. My son had hearing loss that was cleared up in both ears with just a spray thankfully. Very patient and explains things very clearly. Her receptionist is HORRIBLE. She's rude on the phone, rude in person - quite literally wakes up on the wrong side of the bed every single morning. Anyone else I wouldn't put up with it, but I think the Dr. is worth it.

Receptionist is very loud and can come over as rude most of the time. The doctor herself seems very calm/and listens quite well to what you have to say.i don't know to much about her knowledge because our visit was quite short.Punctuality was good.

Excellent, kind, and knowledgable doctor. Excellent bedside manner--especially appropriate for someone who has to deal with small children each day. My son had been seen by 2 previous make ENTs both for his ears and later for his nosebleeds and they were really useless and a waste of time. Dr. Smitheringale did another quick hearing test just to ensure that his ears were ok, and assured me the ruptured eardrum had healed perfectly. And that wasn't even the reason for the visit. She quickly and painlessly cauterized his nose and prescribed a moisturizing cream for his nose that has stopped the night nosebleeds. Thank you Dr. Smitheringale!

What a waste of time! After a long wait to see her for my daughter's adenoids, she didn't even look at them - just recommended a nasal spray for a stuffy nose and rushed us out. We felt completely dismissed. Two years later we finally got in to see another ENT, who took the time to actually look up her nose, diagnosed the problem, answered all our questions and came up with a plan to fix it. Wish we had never bothered going to Dr Smitheringale in the first place.
