Been his paitent for 5 years, Saw him twice, His replacement is a joke, First she told me that it take 6 months to get MRI. Phone appointment cancelled, Decided to go MD Anderson and after 2 MRI and biopsy it was determinedd it is Gleaon 8 with bladdler cancer. I am taking legal action against Dr. F and his replacemnet. Fortuntealy i have the money to go to top Cancer Centre in the world.

I never saw a review regarding Dr. Neil Fleshner, until now when I needed to look up his phone #.
So, here is what I think of this man who saved my life. Dr. Neil Fleshner nearly 22 years ago performed a radical operation for prostate cancer, and as I said saved my life.
I can only say, he is wonderful.

Reading all the responses below, it seems we are all experiencing the same deterioration of care since Neil has left. I have never once met or spoken to Dr A, to whom Neil passed me on, and highly recommended. I had a phone 'consultation', a follow-up to an MRI and could barely understand a word. With all due respect and I fully believe foreign medical staff should be employed in our system, but when it comes to important information and discussions of personal life-changing situations, language is critical. I don't have the same confidence or comfort with the UHN care any more and have to consider other alternatives.

Staff is awful they do not return phone calls. Poor customer servivmce. Even when you leave multiple calls they do not return the call. The Dr that is replacing Dr Fleshner says I do not follow his protocols. I want to see you in 6 months not sooner.

When I could not get any surgeon to do a radical cystectomy my wife reached out to Dr Fleshner within days we were in his office test done decision made.
Ask if I was willing to have it done before vacation time was in full swing Dec 28th 2023. Thank you thank you 🎩. Dr A that is looking after his practice on the other hand has yet to have a conversation with me directly
at least to introduce her self to me.

Dr Fleshner is a first rate surgeon -- as are his medical staff: one gets five star medical treatment; I've been his patient since the mid-90's.
The problem, and a serious one, is the administration around him and his doctors -- my experience, since the Covid shut-down, is that the administration has to be chased, it fails to follow up reliably and promptly, can send prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy, fills out blood test forms incorrectly. The interactive communications naturally sailed the medical staff, and it is not an easy process, or even a practical one, to try to get through by phone or internet to the administrative side of the operation. The PMH medical staff are world class -- but the administrative support services in recent times have become seriously depleted -- which affects PMH's reputation and undermines the proficiency of it's medical service delivery.

Waited months to see the doc. When finally arrived they told me that he is on sabbatical. THANK YOU for the headsup!

Saw his replacement- seemed knowledgeable (dr. A) . But what good is that if there is no follow up? She told me that she will "take care of me"....yeah....words are cheap

A full month after seeing Dr. A (his replacement for the year)- got a call on Sunday afternoon. Was on a 22km run and asked if they can call me in 2 hours when im done.

Of course the entitled, zero service office never called back.

Conclusion? they charged the ministry for my visit. NO FOLLOW UP, and even when they chose to call me on Sunday evening (what the hell) as I happened to be on a long run (SORRY if i dont sit on my couch waiting a full month for a call)- they never bothered to call again.

I will also send a similar note to the ministry and to whoever will listen.

Our healthcare is a joke. Its practitioners like to complain how busy they are. They are just entitled and think they are better than their patients.

- why didnt they call me ahead of my visit to tell me that Dr. Fleshner wont even be there? its not as if i didnt have to free my schedule to show up.
- why has there been no follow up for weeks?
- why when they call on sunday evening while im doing something HEALTHY, they dont even bother calling again.

If i could rate their service as ZERO- i would.

Result- i STILL have a urine/bladder/prostate issue. Thank you very much!

Dear Dr.Fleshner and your staff . Each year my appointments and tests are booked and very organized . My emails and phone calls are always answered. Because of you and your team I continue to be Cancer free. Toronto General and Princess Margaret are top notch and continue to do a great job.

No impressed, after a biopsy, didn't call to confirm when and appointment was made. Impossible to reach staff by phone. Didn't answer any direct questions, not even what type of cancer I was diagnosed with.
