This doctor did an adequate job of evaluation, but all he offered was expensive tests. No explanation of what might be causing the symptoms. No rational for why I should have the tests. He answered my questions, but now I only have the information that I knew to ask about. Maybe he was having a bad day, but I'm not going back and I'm not letting him do any procedure on me. He made me feel more like an insurance card than a person.

Dr. Smith is one of the finest people that I have ever met; not just as a doctor, but as a person. He first cared for my son as a patient (and was the first doctor to correctly diagnose my sons problem)and then when I needed a gastroenterologist, I chose to use him. He is located 2 1/2 hours from my home, but because of his care with my son, I knew that distance was not an issue. Dr. Smith, his nurse and the staff went above and beyond to help me take care of getting the medical appointments that I needed for my health without having to make lots of trips to Charleston. They care about their patients! Teresa Miller

Dr. Smith is by far the best doctor I have ever gone to. He was extremely helpful and concerned about my issue. He made an appt for a colonoscopy for me that was 2 weeks away. By the time I got home he had called and gotten me in sooner because he was concerned. Turned out I had Ulcerative Colitis and he has helped me find the best medicine for the price and problem. I travel an hour to go to appts, but it is well worth the time and gas money to see him!

Dr. Smith was very helpful and concerned about my husband. We went in with chest pain. He was very concerned with my husbands issues. He was able to set up a procedure 2 days later. Two days after the procedure we had results from biopsies. He was very accomodating and very nice. He is very personable and friendly. I would recommend him to anyone.

In my experience, this man is unable to listen. I explained my symptoms (which did NOT include pain) and he said "So tell me about the pain." I told him I don't have pain. Five minutes later, he was asking me about pain again. After 2 unhelpful visits, he sent me to a colleague. When I met the new doctor, he said "So Dr. Smith said you are having pain." ..................................... The other problem is he pretends to be so super friendly, but he comes across as fake. He won't answer questions with a straight answer, which is more important to me than fake niceness.
