My mother was treated by in emergency by Dr. Hewitt approx a month ago. After 7 hours of waiting in emergency Dr. Hewitt kept asking my 92 year old mother why she was there? She was clearly dehydrated and down to 92 lbs. He said she had a bladder infection and sent her home with a prescription. Seven days later I had to take my mother back to emergency, another 7 hours but this time got a wonderful doctor who immediately gave her fluids and furthers test because he felt there was something seriously wrong with her. After further tests my mother was diagnosed with stomach cancer and is now in hospice.

This dr called me the wrong name more then once in the 3 mins he spent with me , he didn’t even address two of the severe things I was having wrong with me. Ordered some meds to be put in my IV for my severe headache sent me for a CT scan. I had many other things going on he didn’t address any of them and after the CT scan a nurse came and said OK I’m gonna take out the IV. The ambulance drivers put put in and you can go I said, is the doctor not coming back to talk to me or ask me about my other things that are concerning nope, all good you’re good you can leave! I’ve had no resolve it’s been three days and I’m still super sick and scared to go back to emergency

This doctor is absolutely horrible
He treats people like garbage. He should stick to his crappy coffee house downtown that I will never go to.

After seeing my family doctor, he called emerg and told them that I would be coming in for a blood transfusion. That is when I met Dr Huitt. He was dismissive of my concers (heart rate of 150 and anemic) refused the blood transfusion had me sitting in patient area and discussed my medical issues in front of other patients. After all of that I was sent away with the same problem. Dr Huitt had 0 bedside manners and ignores patients. My next step will be reporting him to the director

My family and I have had many occasions in the Vernon hospital dealing with this horrible "DR", he is rude and doesn't care about anyone.. I wish I could put a 0. One of the occasions in ER was my grandson aged 17 days old was very very sick and my daughter and I mentioned to Hewitt that we had suspicions that my grandson could have pyloric stenosis and he cut us off not letting us talk, argued it with my daughter saying it was IMPOSSIBLE for baby to have this condition because of his age and when baby projectile vomited in the ER, DR Hewitt didn't even come and see the mess or check baby. He sent us on our way telling us to go see our family doctor on Monday so we went through the whole weekend of my grandson projectile vomiting and being sick to find out on Monday by our family doctor that he indeed has pyloric stenosis which we had to be shipped to BC children's hospital asap.. my grandson could have died with this condition..I'm so glad we didn't take Pathetic waste of skin Hewitt's word for it..

If I could give zero stars that would be more than he deserves. If you have to visit the VJH ER and he is the attending physician, you might as well just head back home because you can take better care of yourself there than he will in the hospital. It’s obvious he hates people and his job.
