Dr. Dowe and all the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Dr. Dowe is very thorough and explains everything really well. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. The bonus is a great selection of frames.

Didn't think anyone could replace my previous optometrist, but Dr. Dowe was amazing. Explained everything in detail and in layman's terms and offered great suggestions for simple things I could do to improve my eye health. He runs a very professional office; Cheryl and Kim were great. I'm so glad I checked "Rate MDs" first. I highly recommend Dr. David Dowe.

I appreciate the excellent care you provide at Visionworks. I heartily endorse all of you and I tell everyone I can that you are the best optometrist I have ever had. My neurologist wanted to know who put the eye plugs in and she was impressed that you did them. Dr. Hay is another: She asked who I saw in the Valley for her records and when I told her you, she also commented and said I was in good hands. Not only do you have a great reputation but you are a fun office to visit and I always leave encouraged. Thank you for all of that :).

After discerning problems with my vision, I visited Dr Dowe who identified a possible tear in my retina. Within a week I was referred to a specialist in Courtenay and three weeks later had surgery in Victoria to remedy the problem. Thanks to Dr Dowe, my sight has been restored to its previous level of function.

My experience was very short. I was recommended to vision work DrDowe. I walked into there new office there was no receptionist there. There was a man talking to someone I assume it was the optometrist he nodded his head and disappeared, no one asked me if I need help or tell me when the receptionist was going to be there. I just looked at lenses just to look as there was a woman worki g with another person (customer) at a little table at the end. Another customer walked in and I seen a receptionist talk to him. By this time I headed out the door and the most anyone said to me was have a good night. And someone said I don't recall the name but the receptionist is coming out now. I left.

First of all, what a great office! Everybody was really helpful and I love the how comfortable I was made to feel. I was worried because I'm on a budget though and the place looks pretty high end. I've got two kids who seem to change prescriptions overnight and it can get expensive. Dr. Dowe was knowledgable and efficient, and incredibly patient with my daughter who doesn't know her letters yet - he even had a kid's eye chart with pictures. Who knew? When it came to getting glasses I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get glasses in my price range. High end service, high quality glasses and they worked within my budget. What's not to love? Highly recommend and I will definitely be back - great experience.

I've been seeing (sorry-no pun intended) optometrists for over 50 years and this clinic is, without a doubt, the very best I have ever dealt with. These people are first rate.

I was impressed by the attention to detail, knowledge of my specific challenges, team discussion ( which included me) and effort just to get my prescription started. Dr. Dowe and his staff really do know their products and get to know their client's needs .They went out of their way to provide service , including follow up.The office space and ease of conversation were intentionally comfortable. The staff was very nice and accommodating but I found Dr. Dowe to be a little full of himself and the prescription he gave me doesn't seem to be quite right.
I will be seeing another optometrist to correct this;(

This office is the best run Optometrist Office I have been to. The staff are awesome and they know their stuff.
