Happy with my rhino and tummy tuck. Everything looks amazing! He claims to have performed thousands and of surgeries and I believe it. His knowledge and surgical skill were astounding.

He is super busy so sometimes he’s running behind; however, I realize this is because he takes his time in surgery to make things perfect - for me and everyone else.

I’ve recommended him to all of my family and friends.

I had my second rhinoplasty done with Dr. Smith last year. Though I am happy with my side profile, my main concern was the tip of my nose. A few months post op I told them I was worried about the tip of my nose. They just kept telling me to do my exercises and that when the swelling subsides it will get better. After a year follow-up I told him I was unhappy with the tip. I am one of those people that gets really nervous about speaking up, but I thought Dr. Smith would be understanding, as this was my second time getting the same surgery. I could tell he was frustrated with me. He told me it was not a bad nose and that if he made changes to the tip I would look like a pig. He literally said that. I told him my husband had made comments that my tip didn't look great, that my nose had not changed much after spending all that money. He forced me to call my husband and then proceeded to talk to my husband without including me. His assistant attempted to keep me distracted. This was really not ok. They told me this was normal to call people's partners and that my husband seemed just so reasonable. It felt very manipulative. I left the appointment feeling defeated. They said I could make an appointment for the tip of my nose, but that he could not predict if it would go well. So I never called them back. I feel disappointed in myself for not doing more research.

I received a breast augmentation with Dr. Smith in September of 2017. I finally saved enough money to be able to afford the $6300 surgery. After the procedure I had complications of capsular contracture in both breasts. Therefore, I had to schedule a revision surgery. I went for that procedure in February of 2018, which he charged me an additional $1000. Immediately after the procedure when I came to, I noticed two drains, which was never explained to me. I was shocked to wake up to it without being consulted, but now I have no choice. This was upsetting because now i have additional scarring. When it came to the point of getting my drains removed, Dr. Smith felt I was ready to have them removed. On the other hand, one of his many assistants indicated she didn't think one drain was ready to be removed. She was right. I, once again, developed capsular contracture in my right breast. I asked about another revision surgery, which he wanted to charge me an additional $2000 for. I was already hesitant to receive a 3rd surgery from a doctor who claims to be one of the best within the country so I refused. Unfortunately, this was far from the only problem I had with Dr. Smith. The initial surgery price took care of medication and blood work. I was surprised to see that with the following surgery, I had to come out of pocket for the medication and blood work after spending $7300. Also, after the revision surgery, during my visit the day after the surgery, he said it slipped his mind to put my nipple in the right place and laughed about it! Yea, that's right. Because getting cut open multiple times is funny. On top of that, each time I had an appointment with Dr. Smith, I would be in the waiting room for approx. 2 hours waiting for my turn. I NEVER received any before/after photos as promised and no follow ups after I refused a 3rd procedure. It is now May of 2019 and I still have capsular contracture in my right breast. It took me so long to write a review because I really dont like to write negative reviews but I felt this was necessary due to his lack of compassion or care of his patients. I just had a Skype interview with the casting producer of the E! show Botched. Hopefully, I will be chosen to show my story so people can see what Dr. Smith has left me with. Please do your research and consider other doctors. Ive heard nothing but good things about Dr. Pancholi so look into him. Good luck with your procedure and I really hope you don't go through what I did!

My wife and I scheduled a consultation 30 days in advance to work with our hectic schedules. We showed up 20 mins early, walked in and the lobby looked like a busy ER. We signed in and had a seat, the wait began. 45 minutes AFTER our scheduled appt (you would think an office would make sure first time consults ran on time (or close to, as first impressions are critical) my wife asked when we would be seen, the response was very soon, we are just a little behind, now we are approaching an hour. 15 mins later my wife again asked when we would bee seen, now an hour late, the girl answered very soon, my wife asked for an exact time now as we are well over an hour late, the girl stated she would find out and let us know, she returned to the window ANOTHER 10 mins later and told us, "we are sorry, the doctor is running a little behind, it will be another 45 mins to an hour, this would be 2-2.5 hours after our scheduled appt. I then took over the conversation and requested our 50.00 be refunded (BTW, they are very up front about wanting your credit card in weeks in advance to bill you 50.00 for the consult). I told he I wanted a call from the Doctor, as I now lost a days work over this with nothing to show. The staff said, we are sorry, and we left. Dr. Smith called me 7 hours later and apologized, then proceeded to tell em "Honestly, we run behind most of the time, I'm not going to lie to you". As I mentioned at the beginning of this rating, as we walked in the waiting room looked like a busy ER. Enough said, certainly not the place I want touching my wife, when hurry seems to be the norm around there. Hope this helps any perspective clients.

Dr. Lane Smith is the Michelangelo of 21st Century cosmetic/plastic surgery, my opinion. I had the Mommy Makeover done last year. My husband is a doctor and he commented how excellent Dr. Smith's sutures/stitches were. I was wonderfully amazed at the results, breath taken actually. I would wait 5 hours for a Consult visit with Dr. Smith, if necessary. This surgery changed my life and it is true about regaining one's self esteem and confidence. Dr. Smith and his Nurses are "Coaches" from pre surgery throughout all follow-up visits. Dr. Smith had solutions for every question to have a comfortable recovery. Dr. Smith is adamant about his patients being compliant with instructions. He understands what women want and I look like I did when I was 18 years old. I had a umbilical hernia since age 16 and he was able to successfully repair this damage. I can once again walk beaches in a bikini feeling awesomely happy. Ratings to the Moon! Thank you, Dr. Smith.

Worst tummy tucks scars. Even my OBGYN said my scars are the worst she has ever seen and told me that I should get my scars revised by another doctor and never go back to Dr. Smith It is well over two years and my bellybutton has a dark red ring circle around it and I have dark reddish purple scars that are not even and Pier up over my panties I can’t even hide them. It is so frustrating and upsetting. Now in all honesty the doctor seem frustrated at what happened to me and he sincerely looked upset at his work but his staff are just so rude except for one nurse that left and Jessica who schedules all the surgeries those two girls were wonderful everybody else forget just rude ..... which Dr. Smith should realize that his staff’s rudeness is a reflection upon him and just makes this healing process of mine even worse I’d love to walk into his office soon and just say hey look how you butchered me ..

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Smith, Dr. Crowley and the rest of the Smith Plastic Surgery team. After interviewing several other plastic surgeons I am convinced there is no one I would trust more or rather have performing my procedures than Dr. Smith. I had a facelift/necklift with blepharoplasty and fat transfer two weeks ago and couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m now scheduled for another procedure with Dr. Smith and wouldn’t consider having anyone else as my surgeon. Dr. Smith is a phenomenal plastic surgeon with unequaled training and experience. He is a perfectionist with a truly beautiful sense of artistry and takes great pride in doing his absolute best work for every patient. Dr. Smith is also kind, compassionate and impeccably honest. He suggested I didn’t need a procedure other surgeons were recommending and explained an alternative that would give a better result with less scarring and at less expense. He always takes time to become familiar with my goals and objectives for each procedure, to answer all my questions and to explain the benefits, limitations and expected results. Because he does take the time each patient needs appointments can sometimes run behind schedule, so plan on spending a few extra minutes at the office. Dr. Smith and the excellent quality of results he achieves are definitely worth spending a little more money and a little more time. I believe any patient of Dr. Smith who follows all his instructions exactly will have the very best result their body is capable of, as everyone responds to surgery and heals differently.

First of all, Doctor Smith is extremely thorough at your consultation. I left there with very few questions and his knowledge and experience were enough to quell my anxiety for my tummy tuck. One week post tummy tuck procedure now and the staff was amazing. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Crowley is very soft spoken and kind, he makes you feel at ease when he calls with pre-op instructions and while prepping for surgery. I cannot say enough good about this surgeon and his staff. Professional, compassionate, honest and by far the best. I am highly impressed with my tuck so far, the cut and oh my belly button! Love, love!

Biography

I am the oldest child of a large family of 10 children. My father was a physician, who specialized in Psychiatry. He worked very hard to support our large family, but he loved his work. He truly cared about his patients and I can remember people stopping him in stores or other places, thanking him for his good work. I believe that because of my father, I wanted to become a physician from a very early age. I cannot remember wanting to be anything else but a doctor. As the oldest child in a large family, I developed a sense of responsibility. From this, I also developed a very good work ethic that has served me well throughout my life. In school, I excelled in sports and did equally well in the academic arena. Being focused on my goal to become a physician, I graduated early from high school and finished college at age 18. At that point, I embarked on a service mission for my church. After finishing that service, I entered the University of Utah medical school as the youngest in my class at age 20. I was fortunate to graduate as one of the top in my medical school and was awarded membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. This awarded membership is the highest academic honor given to medical students. During medical school, I developed a love for surgery. It seemed that all the toughest problems were referred to the surgeons and that they made amazing changes in people’s lives. Surgery also required a bit of athleticism and hand eye coordination, which blended well with my history as an athlete in high school and college. Initially, I was attracted to Ear, Nose, Throat-head and Neck Surgery as a surgical specialty. I traveled to one of the best schools for this specialty, at the time, the University of Texas Medical Branch located in Galveston. I also received the highest score in the nation on the federal licensure exam -- one of two national exams all medical students must pass to become a physician. I enjoyed living on the gulf coast and having warmer winters, which eventually was one of the reasons I chose to practice in Las Vegas. As part of my surgical training in Texas, I was first exposed to facial plastic surgery. I quickly developed a love for this type of surgery. It was both artistic, challenging, and changed lives. I also took an interest in organized medicine at that time and was elected president of the Texas Medical Association-Resident Physician Section. I sat on the Texas Council of Medical Education. I helped craft policy and legislation as it pertained to health care. I was also elected president of the Housestaff at my hospital and was given many honors and awards during my training. I have since continued my service in various medical organizations. I served as secretary of the Rocky Mountain Plastic Surgery Society, and President of the Las Vegas Plastic Surgery Society, which I helped form. After finishing my residency in Texas, I was accepted to a Facial Plastic Fellowship at Stanford University. Living in the Palo Alto area near San Francisco was one of the best experiences of my life. It was a beautiful place to live and I immensely enjoyed my training and work. During my time there, I was also fortunate to serve as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery. At the end of this fellowship, I was awarded the Jack Anderson Award by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery. This was my second time to achieve the highest score on a national exam. After finishing my training at Stanford, I practiced for a short time in Utah near my hometown. During this time, I completed my first medical mission to Zimbabwe. Since then, I have had the opportunity to serve other medical missions in other parts of the world on a regular basis. It is important as physicians and human beings that we continue to give back to the community. Desire to become more specialized in Plastic Surgery, I left my busy practice in Utah and went to the world-famous Mayo Clinic to do a fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. There I was fortunate to work with some of the great pioneers of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including some of the pioneers in reconstructive breast surgery. My training there has helped me deal with some of the more difficult problems that present in the field of plastic surgery. While at the Mayo clinic in 2001, I was given the award for the best research paper on Aesthetic Surgery for the resident physician section by the American Plastic Surgery Society. Upon finishing my training, I decided to enter practice in the Las Vegas area. I liked the warmer winters here and it was a growing city with many opportunities. I have enjoyed living in the Vegas area and have met many wonderful friends here. There is always something interesting or exciting going on in Vegas as it is the crossroads for the United States. I have cared for celebrities and patients from aboard. During my many years of training, I had the opportunity to live in all parts of the country and to train at some of the finest medical institutions in the world. This training and experience has helped shape my philosophy regarding medicine, as well as plastic surgery specifically. Plastic surgery is a combination of science and art. I feel I have been blessed to have a very artistic sense. I treat every surgery as if it is a work of art, something that I want to be proud of when it is finished. It is my philosophy to treat each patient as if they were personal friends and to use cutting edge technology combined with old-fashioned values. Nothing takes the place of caring and concern. Our attempt is to treat others in a manner that we would want ourselves or our family members to be treated.
