Dr. Kump performed arthroscopic meniscus surgery on me. Ortho VA surgical center has the most amazing nurses and staff. He was very helpful explaining the entire procedure to me and getting me in and out in a timely manner.

Well where do I start.. I received a work related injury..(Workman's compensation) an Achilles repair. I would assume the surgery was done correctly, but what he didn't know there was a person I knew personally on the surgical team and there was some humor at my (unconscious) expense. Fast forward. The very FIRST day I was able to I experienced shortness of breath, as a result I was admitted to a hospital for 5 days and subsequently placed on a 3 month regimen of Lovonox BECAUSE he DID NOT follow post surgical protocol and I developed Blood clots which he casually admitted was his fault when inquiry was made by an E.R. physician. "yea it was probably my fault"...now I'm at risk of developing blood clots for the rest of my life. He didn't even remember what procedure he had performed on me... he asked how my knee was doing...I said great !! but I'm hear for my Achilles. There may be an underlying cause of the disparity in patient care and treatment

I had a multiple break in my ankle and was referred by an emergency room doctor. Dr. Kump was very nice to speak to and was no hurry. Answered all questions and fixed the problem by inserting a plate and 7 screws. ALSO, this man is a Real American Hero who serves in the U.S.Army as a surgeon for over 20 years. All visits have been prompt except one, which he was doing emergency surgery (completely understood). I would not hesitate to refer friends and family to him. He also has a great staff of folks and in the Therapy Department as well. He is so busy, but professional and was never, after 6 visits, in a hurry to leave.

This dr assumes that all new patients are just looking for pain meds. He is so bias with people that are , that he fails to see people that are actually in pain. He's very rude !!!

The other reviews in no way shape or form describe Dr kump. He is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I have been his patient for quite sometime now and have just completed my 2 nd total knee replacement. I have gone from a 10 pain level to a 0. He has a great bedside manner and explains everything really well. He is extremely through and has an expert knowledge level. Most with his credentials would be cocky but he is anything but that. I would recommend him in a red hot second. He also listens and acts upon what I describe to him is going on with me.

Do not listen to me when I told him something wasn't right with my shoulder after surgery just released me.Patients know their body so listen to them and find out why they are still suffering in in unbearable pain, it caused more pain. Think about doing a MIR to make sure nothing is wrong next time Started treating me like a pill junkie. Instead of listening to me and because of that my whole arm is messed up for Life now.

After my 1st hip surgery went bad. Was referred to this Dr from the same practice. Even though both my hips were still extremely painful. Dr Kump refused to listen to what I was telling him. He failed to read the charts from the other Dr that was in his building. Didn't check my prescription history and immediately started treating me like a pill junkie. Was rude and arrogant. Good Drs listen to what their patients are telling them and don't just assume they know everything !!! Quickly went to another dr.

I went to see Dr. Kump for my painful knee and hip. I didn't wait long. The process was very efficient. He was patient, listened, and did a thorough exam. He explained the diagnosis and gave me several options. I felt like he cared about me and my problem. It has now been a few months since I first saw him and my knee is doing well. I am doing much better. He has seen me back a couple of times during that period and plan on continuing to see him. I like his approach. His staff is excellent. His office facility is very nice
