Down to earth, calling a spade a spade. I had even received a letter from Dr Chang, asking me to have faith in him, first time, I can say that after 6 ENT specialist, that he has resolved my ongoing fluid build up inside the ear. If Dr Chang, suggests if I need surgical procedures, I would feel completely safe in his hands.

I had a Tonsillectomy and Uvulectomy done through Dr Chang which is a pretty major thing at 35 years of age! My experience with Dr Chang and his support staff, Nell & Steph were nothing short than exceptional.
From the moment I met Dr Chang I felt at ease, he is so down to earth and and explains things on your level with which is needed for for people with non-medical backgrounds (most of us!). Nell and Steph compliment this by being very supportive throughout the process, right through to post-op.
The day of the surgery I was naturally very nervous lying in pre-op, however, once I got to the operating theatre and started chatting with Dr Chang and my Anesthetist I felt very at ease and actually very comfortable prior to having anything to relax me or knock me out.
I was in hospital for 2 days, both days I was visited by Dr Chang which I thought was great. You had an overwhelming feeling by his actions and questions that he truly cares. Its not just a 'job' to him.
My recovery was naturally quite painful although I had no complications and I was healing faster than expected which must be a testament to Dr Chang's surgical skills and post op advice.
Trust Dr Chang like I did and you will have as good an experience as surgery can be.

Dr Chang was wonderful and because he got me into hospital so quickly has saved my hearing. I am very thankful. All the staff at his St Vincent's office have been really nice and helpful.
His anesthetist Dr Harry was very nice too seeing me before the operation and putting me at ease.

From the very 1st consultation with Dr Chang i knew I had made the right choice of doctor to fix my deviated septum. He has the most down to earth manner and just has this awesome knack of putting you at ease while also ensuring your completely informed of exactly what is involved in your procedure. I was booked in for my op at St Luke's and while I was nervously waiting to be wheeled into the theatre his wonderful anaesthetist Dr Harry came and had a chat and completely took my mind off the surgery. Dr Chang then had a chat outside the theatre and reassured me i was in good hands which I really appreciated. I woke up after the surgery and was looked after by the fantastic staff at St Luke's. Dr Chang then visited me the next morning and after a quick check up I was on my way home. I can not thank Dr Chang, his wonderful office staff, his anaesthetist Dr Harry and all the brilliant nurses at St Lukes for making my whole treatment such a hassle free and easy journey.

Dr chang was an absolute god send for us. Finding out our daughter was profoundly deaf was absolutely heartbreaking... he put our minds to ease the second we met him, knowing he was the dr that would be operating on my daughter and to give her the gift of hearing made such a hard journey that little bit easier... I will forever be greatfull for him.

My husband has suffered hearing loss since he was approx 20, bu the age of 30 his hearing had deteriorated rapidly and a cochlear was our only option. Dr Chang made us feel so comfortable with our decision to get the Cochlear Implant. Prior to surgery he made sure he saw us and again made us feel so at ease. My Husband has now had his cochlear for two weeks and it’s been amazing. Dr Chang and his surgical secretary Nell have been amazing and just lovely to deal with and have gone above and beyond for us. They both honestly feel like family. We would always recommend Dr Chang to anyone and everyone who needs an ENT specialist he is a pleasure to deal with.

Dr Phil Chang is so amazing! omg. I heard this guy's a nut job. Do not see him unless you wanna subject yourself to his passive aggressive antics. There are more respectful specialists out there. Thanks Dr Chang!!! Love you so much!

I experienced sudden instant hearing loss and was fortunate enough to be recommended to Dr Phillip Chang. He understood how devastating this was and assured me in his kind compassionate way that I would not have to go through life unable to hear. At the end of May 2019 I had my cochlear implant. It takes many people for this to happen, from Dr Chang to the lovely anaesthetist, my audiologist, the busy office staff and the kind hospital personnel. I was admitted one morning, had the operation that afternoon, stayed overnight, and after seeing Dr Chang the next day I was able to leave. During this time I experienced no pain and did not need any medication. My implant was switched on some days later and I now realised that I had to contribute to the effort everyone else had put in to make this a success. After less than five months I can hear the tv, listen to an audio book and take part in a conversation while being aware it has not yet reached its full potential. A mere "thank you"does not seem enough to give someone who has returned to you the gift of hearing, I would recommend Dr Phillip Chang to anyone needing a great professional caring surgeon.

Getting a stapedectomy was my first surgery experience and Dr Chang walked me through the process all the way from explaining everything from diagnosis, risks & possible improvement and explained everything very clearly so that I would not feel worried or anxious before the operation. All the staff were extremely caring & friendly and took care of any questions I had about getting everything ready for my hospital stay & anaesthetist booking... as well as making sure I had all the info I needed to recover at home after surgery. I had such great results from the right ear surgery (in 2018) that I had no hesitation when Dr Chang suggested I did the left ear sooner rather than later and did it in January 2019. This has been the best decision I could make. It has improved my hearing dramatically and made a huge difference to my daily life.

Dr. Philip Chang is high in emotional intelligence, has a million dollar smile, is an attentive listener and his responses are concise and easily understood. Why people rate a doctor's punctuality is beyond me. With all their ongoing emergencies all doctors have a right to be late. But Dr. Chan never kept me waiting on my three visits despite the obvious flurry of activity around the practice. He was given the highest recommendation by my hearing specialist. Glad I listened and followed through. I was operated on for a Cochlear implant on 20th March 2019. While in the modern St. Vincent's Private Hospital suite I could see, hear and sense the smooth interaction of the high performance team, particularly regarding the collaboration between four members, the anaesthetist, assistant surgeon, Dr. Chang and a nurse. The technical side was briefly explained. One could sense the team's overarching goal of achieving a perfect result for the patient. I felt at ease and confident in their abilities at all times. All went well. Afterwards on waking, pain level was low. Much lower than dental surgery for instance. Switch on a week later was interesting. Hearing became clearer by the week. Now darned near amazing and still improving. Can now hear every word on TV programmes versus nothing before. On my last visit to Dr. Chang I described him as a genius. He is that. To be able to hear again so clearly is like a miracle. One of the best things to ever happen to me. A great surgeon and a great team. Thank you all.
