Dr Duffy breaches confidentiality in regards to his patients. I would be concerned if I were his patient as to who else knows my diagnosis and medication.
I find him irrational, unprofessional, and unsubstantiated in his practice.

We started seeing Dr Duffy 12 months ago with our son. His knowledge and support has helped us through a very stressful period. He always listens and takes time with our son to explain things. Because he gives you the time necessary, we accept appointments to be running late and the system of phoning and checking best time to come, works for us.

Dr Duffy has saved our (indigenous) boy's life. He had been diagnosed with ADHD (Inattentive) by another Pediatrician and put on an inadequate dose of Ritalin... with little improvement... We switched to Dr Duffy who agreed with the diagnosis but said the dose was way too low. Our boy thinks Dr Duffy is awesome. Dr Duffy has given our boy real confidence that he can get his life back in control and complete his education with confidence. We now have a happy boy who is confident that he can achieve in life. We were seriously worried about suicide prior to Dr Duffy's intervention. Dr Duffy is regularly late (but you are always advised to phone on appointment day and get a more realistic timeslot)... the ladies are very helpful. I am very happy for Dr Duffy to be late, forgetful, whatever... Dr Duffy is very expert in his field, treats our boy as if he was his own. We couldn't ask for more. Keep up the great work Dr Duffy, the children and families need you.

We have been seeing Dr Duffy for few years now. When no one else could help our child or give us proper answersf Dr Duffy could. We found Dr Duffy to be the nicest Dr you will ever meet. He extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. All drs run late from time to time but u know it's due to his genuine care and concern for your child. If you want a pediatrician who truly cares not only
about your child but the parents as well. His staff are also delightful ladies. Keep up the good work Dr Duffy Sydney needs you.

I have always been opposed to medicating my children but after trying natural therapies with my son for 5 years (ADHD & Aspergers), I felt the time had come and went to see Dr Duffy. I was initially annoyed with his lateness and forgetfulness. He was not your usual specialist (and we have seen MANY over the past 15 years). During this appointment he asked me about my teenage daughters and I explained I suspected one had similar issues and seemed quite depressed. He insisted on seeing her and immediately tried her on medication. She found it a huge help to be diagnosed as she was aware something wasn't right but no one else had been able to help her. Her moods have improved beyond expectation! She is still the same person with a more positive attitude. She thinks Dr Duffy is great! When he asked to see my other daughter, a bright, friendly, straight A student, I was reluctant. He diagnosed her with ADD (and possible Aspergers) too but we didn't agree with him . She refused to take the medication and I supported her decision. We went to Syd Dev Centre for a second opinion and one of the head paeds there had a chat with us, looked at her school report and told us she didn't have it. He rang later with brain scan results and told us he was wrong. I was shocked Dr Duffy was the only person to pick it and did so very quickly. Unfortunately her behaviour has recently spiralled out of control and Dr Duffy has been a huge help and a very big support to me. She has now started on some low dose meds which will be gradually increased and we are hoping it will have same positive results as her sister. She does not like him and I am sure it is because he is the ONLY person who can see through her. I sincerely regret not taking his advice and making my daughter take the meds earlier. I will never complain about his lateness, forgetfulness or answering phones during appointments again. He is a very caring man who will spend as much time as possible with you. I now just write off the afternoon when I am meeting him and look forward to our honest chats. One receptionist is very nice, the others can be a little stand offish but have met worse.

I have had dealings with Dr Duffy for 44 years. First with myself and my brother (who has a variety of disabilities) and now with my own two sons. I have meet many people over the years who have been saved by Dr Duffy. He is not egotistical, he is a brilliant and experience diagnosticion who involves you in your child's assessment and treatment. His guidance should be taken seriously and be seen only as it is intended, for the best for the child and family. His treatment and knowledge is cutting edge and effective.
He validated parents and treats them as much as the children he sees.
He is highly professional and three very long hours he works in his practice and outside of those hours consulting in the field (ie attending a school, hospital etc) arethe reasons he is so often late our needs to take the odd phone call during a consult.
I feel very sorry for those children and families whose parents have withdrawn them from Dr Duffy's care.
He has saved our family as I know he had many others and I am eternally grateful.

We decided to go to a different paediatrician after a few consults with Dr Duffy. This Doctor has many years of experience but he wasn't the right doctor for us. He is stuck in the past with his views and approach to autism treatments. If your child has autism I would find a different paediatrician. Dr duffy can diagnose it and that is all. He then suggested we shouldn't have any more children as it is genetic. He wanted to do a Ritalin trial on my 3 year old son who he diagnosed with adhd within 10 minutes of meeting him. He also runs on average 1 hour late and takes phone calls during consults. I can tell you that I even know what he doesn't like about the clock in his car because he told his mechanic this during a lengthy phone call during our consult! On our second consult he asked me to remind him of who we were as he had left our notes from our first (and not cheap) consult at home! The staff at the desk are not very helpful either.

An absolute quack - seems to have been a perceptive paediatrician at some very distant point in his career but has clearly lost the ability and now relies on lazy generalisations to quickly pigeonhole children. He has no respect for his patients and will regularly arrive to an appointment half an hour late then spend a significant chunk of the remaining time taking phone calls about other patients. Not only is this done in full earshot of the current patient, but he'll also proceed to chat to the current patient about the subject of the phone call once it's finished - not entirely sure where the hippocratic oath fits into that. His egotism extends beyond a clash of personalities and into his diagnostic methodology: from my own experience, I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism and put on Risperdal for daring to argue with him. Numerous psychiatrists have since assured me that I'm not autistic; he really was just egotistical enough to be personally insulted by a 16-year-old.
