We initially took our kids here but was turned off by John Sherrard's arrogance so we chose another orthodontist. The staff were great but I didn't like the doctor. He gave me the creeps. Looks like we made the right decision to leave and I'm sorry for those that are left with the mess he created.

Absolute misogynistic creep. It only takes a short interaction to see the way he looks down on women and only cares about appearances (especially his own and his army candy of the week). This loser got what was coming to him. I hope all the patients affected get some kind of reimbursement and a proper apology. Men like this turn my stomach. So sorry to all those who were victimized. Stay strong and put him in his place.

My 15 year old had her final appt and her parents weren't included! She was sent with some verbal instructions and a box of Invisalign. Do you think and was paying the bill?!! So disgusted and abandons his practice without warning leaving the clients in a mess!!

As a fellow dental assistant in the SJ area, I just want to say to the staff, I (and many others) are so proud of you all for finally standing up for yourselves. Nobody should be subjected to the behaviour that took place in that practice. The turnover rate over the years speaks for itself. The rumours that have circulated over the years speak for themselves. His public behaviour over the last few years speaks for itself (and points to some potentially serious mental health issues, which he himself has admitted to in the absurd letter he circulated last spring). Do not let yourselves be held back by this experience because if anything, it will make you stronger. The dental profession as a whole in North America seems to have a stereotype for this kind of behaviour. Doctors like the Sherrards are what make people believe that dental assistants and hygienists are nothing but disposable “eye candy” when in reality we are the backbone of every single practice. Without us, there would often be no supplies ordered, no sterile instruments, no billing or booking and nobody to empathize with and comfort our patients and by the sounds of things the whole staff were going above and beyond to keep the practice going while being treated like dirt by the one person who should be nothing but grateful. Doctors like them are why it should be absolutely crucial that we have our own governing body outside of the NBDS, because at the end of the day, a room full of dentists with whom he and his father have had a decades-long relationship with will be the ones to decide if he gets to continue practicing, if their are repercussions for his actions and what they will be, which is a separate corrupt flaw of our profession on its own without this mess. I truly hope that you all find new employment and get to see that, generally, our SJ dental community is a family full of wonderful specialists, dentists, hygienists, assistants and administrators. I truly hope that you feel the relief the first time you walk into a CE event and don’t have people whispering and pointing fingers because of the rumours that come with being associated with the Sherrards. I hope that you talk to someone, keep each other close in your hearts and never roll over on what he did to you (or anyone who has worked there in the past). Hold him accountable and do not give up no matter how trying it becomes. You have a whole community behind you. Plant seeds in the dirt he created and bloom.

Always tuned off but this man. Got the creeps from his cool guy, rich playboy persona every time I took my daughters there. Felt like I needed to take a shower after dealing with his fake smile and commentary.

Lots of gossip about how horribly he treated his staff, and some patients, except maybe the ones he had chosen as his pets and was having sex with.

Lots of people now left mid-treatment and in horrible financial situations because of his abrupt closure and the ensuing gong show.

Hope the regulatory bodies step up and yank his license .

Horrible he destroyed his fathers legacy.

I know it's Dr. John Sherrard, but Dr. SS Sherrard would be more appropriate. Shameless Shenanigans

And yeah, Johnny boy, if your reading these, enjoy living in the purgatory you've created for yourself. Loser
