I am a recent recipient of a knee replacement and would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people involved in my care. I thank Dr. A. Berkshire, Dr. I. Miao, Dr. N. Attabib and Dr. T. Chedore. I also want to acknowledge the many nurses, student nurses, LPNs, physiotherapists, administrative assistants and fellow employees from the front offices, the triages, the pre-op and post-op services to the kitchen staff and many hospital volunteers. You were all very professional, skilled and caring in your varied responsibilities. It was truly a well-coordinated team effort between the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital staffs and, while I may not remember all of your names, I will never forget your care and support and I am forever grateful. – Sharyn Pope, Fredericton, NB

My wife had two surgeries for a broken wrist, and we want to say that the services of the Saint John Regional Hospital were excellent. Dr. Kerr was so understanding, patient and kind. The resident doctor that saw her too, the same could be said, as well as all the staff. We are so blessed to have a hospital like this in New Brunswick. Murray & Shirley McCandless Sussex NB

Extremely poor service. No matter what day you come they say it is a very busy night. Expect to wait at least 6 hours in a line to see a doctor.

I was in the hospital 3x in the last 10 days. The first time, I was in and received fluids immediately as I was dehydrated and pregnant. The second time, I went in with major pain in my sinuses, and my teeth aching. As much as I tried to explain my symptoms, the doctor did not check me, and sent me home, as it was the flu and there was nothing he could do. He did not check my chest, nose, ears or throat. Yes I had the flu, but I tried to say these were not my current symptoms. After being sent home, I waited 3 more days, and then went in to St. Josephs hospital. They checked me out thoroughly, and realized I had a sinus infection that has lead into bronchitis. I personally as the patient would have liked someone to check out these symptoms in the earlier days, instead of saying go home you are pregnant, nothing we can do. I found the doctor with my second visit, rude and did not check me at all. Seemed bothered with me. I am now on a antibiotic that is not harmful to my baby, as I am filled with an infection, something that I am certain could have been prevented if checked. I have a horrible cough, and my teeth have ached for days. I am carrying a baby, and I am not impressed with this service. Thank you to the lovely nurses that helped me, and the triage nurse, all the nursing staff was great I must add, and I am very grateful to all of you!

When I arrived at emergency the security guy on the desk talked twice for over 5 minutes each time while I waited to get in to see my elderly mother. Both times he Diego t about me and 3 others who were waiting. He had to talk personal stuff on h cell - his new apartment compelx and Red Sox baseball. None of which should have been being done when people are stress and worries.

I’ve had two experiences in SJR; both positive!! In Dec of 2016, went to ER for severe An it, My first encounter was with the receptionist; very caring , empathetic, professional woman. This took away some of the dread; as all first encounters in medical facilities , are not so! My next personal encounter s were awesome; a Dr. Hannigan, a Dr Bungash and, a wonderful nurse and two others, I think. The care was second to none; I left with an education on the medication I was on, and I must say that everything was handled with such professionalism and , I felt like I was at the Mayo Clinic!( never been there but it has a good rep) My next experience at SJ R was in Jan , 2017. Didn’t feel too good; called an ambulance; first time ever. Was informed that I had a hear attack. I’m over 65; no serious/ life threatening conditions ! Needless to say, was surprised! A doctor Barry informed me in a most straight forward , but with such professionalism, as not to send me into a panic! He litterly put me at ease. During the pricedure; he informed me ,as to what wa happening; a seri game my questions. His team of nurses were great. He did great job! My follow up was with Dr Bewick in the Cardio Centre. Dr Bewick is so smart, caring professional! Grat sense of humor with really caring and empathetic assistant Jennifer. I was in the SJ hospital for five days. That Cardio Unit isthe best. ! Everyone on that floor is most professional; there is such care from the prople who bring the meals to the people who clean the rooms; all professionals. On that Cardio Unit, they go the extra mile!! I stayed in Saint John with my relatives for two months; along with my three cats! ( definitely good family)I continued to go to Saint John for my Rehab till June. That was my first experience in a hospital, except for my overbite dental procedure! I got “spoiled” In the meantime, broke a hip bone; excellent doctor and ecellentyEM service and ER! My ten days in hospital weren’t bad, but the staff on the floor where I was recovering couldn’t hold a candle to SJR; don’t think some of them could “cut it” at SJR; exceptional hospital; Thank You! Had my heart attack in Saint John, like I told my cousin”Too bad I hadn’t broken my hip there”

Found the triage nurse to be unfriendly to the point of being rude! God forbid you miss the take a number machine! She sends you back to take the number making you feel an idiot then looks at the indicator calls you in even you are the only person in that section. once seated she demands Medicare card no please or thank you and is abrupt throughout the whole process. There really is no need for this as at the time you are feeling your worst and worried and a little empathy would help. Knowing of course they probably have a lot to put up with but that's the Job. I was polite so why could 't she be. However once inside the Emerge after a quite short wait the Nurse and the Doctor could not of been nicer they allayed my fears conducted tests and looked after me very well. really happy with the treatment.
