Using only generic protocols to prescribe meds and don't explain things so you could understand the whole picture, I found her knowledge not strong enough and would recommend to get second opinion if you are questioning the treatment.

Dont waste your time with this doctor , your just a number to her , typical uncaring doctor that does not look at the whole picture . She goes by the book and not logical reasoning .

Over a year period under her treatment my TSH levels went from high normal (around 4) to almost 16. Normal is 5. 'Nuff said. She just kept upping the dose and my numbers got worse. When I asked, her answer was "it takes time" even though the graph clearly showed we were going in the wrong direction. TSH loop is about grade 10 bio. Maybe Dr. Kumar should review it.

Dr Kumar has been an amazing doctor over the past 3 or 4 years that I have been seeing her. She has listened to me, and validated my concerns when other endocrinologists told me nothing was wrong. Dr Kumar got to the root of my issues, and has taken the time to make sure that all of my concerns are addressed at my appointments. I never leave feeling as though I wasn't listened to, in fact, one of the best things about Dr Kumar is that she looks right at you when you are talking to her, and really cares about her patients. She has even called me at home when she knows things haven't been going well for me, and is very reassuring. All of the people who work in the endocrine clinic (from reception to the nurses) are so lovely and caring, I am very lucky to be a patient in her clinic.

Dr Kumar is likely the best doctor I've encountered. She's extremely thorough, helpful, patient and understanding. Through my own treatment and my observation of how she trains residents, it's very clear how knowledgable she is. I'm so happy that I was referred to her.
