I have been seeing Dr. Cho for almost 4 yrs now - I will be getting knee surgery for a high grade tear in my ACL and for my Medial Meniscus come Feb 7th.
I had had a MRI done on my knee 3 yrs ago to which my GP basically told me nothing was really wrong and I wouldn’t be eligible for Surgery. 3 yrs later ( about 2 months ago) I had a burst bakers cyst in the same knee which prompted me finally to advocate for myself and get in to see an orthopaedic surgeon. This surgeon looked at the same initial MRI done 3 yrs prior and was suprised to see that I had lasted this long and hadn’t had any swelling or complications in the last few years until the burst bakers cyst. I explained to her the treatments I had been getting from Dr. Cho were incredibly helpful and not to mention his diagnosis was extremely accurate without ever seeing the MRI - I felt an immense trust for him most recently more than I already had experienced.
I knew Brian was an amazing chiro but it really made me feel so greatful for his talent in diagnosis and then application of proper treatment.
He kept me walking and living my life for 3 yrs whilst truely my knee was completely hooped and hanging on by a thread.
I have referred many friends and my own clients that have become his patients after 1 visit ( that were previously very hesitant of going see chiros) .
His approach is gentle, caring and the last thing he does is goes in starts cracking.
Some chiros I have seen in the past do not take the time to really thoroughly diagnose the body to see whats wrong before adjusting, thankfully Dr. Cho sees to his patients bodies as he sees his own. He has a lot of integrity and I am deeply greatful for his magic :)

Thank you!

I have been having pretty regular chiropractic treatment for the past fifty years. In fact, I had my first treatment age five, from my uncle, 65 years ago. I've known a few truly wonderful chiropractors, many good, some just passable, a very few not worthy of the name. But I have never experienced anything like what I would term the painful, damaging treatment delivered by Brian Cho.

I went to him with pain in my lower legs, perhaps caused by an increase in the amount of exercise I was doing since returning to Vancouver (at first I'd thought it was my new running shoes). Of course at 71 I also have a history of other issues--the most significant of which are severe osteoporosis and atrial fibrillation, both medically diagnosed. Both are of course risk factors with chiropractic treatment, so I was careful to highlight them, both on the questionnaire and verbally. Dr. Cho seemed doubtful about this information and referred to 'osteopenia'. I corrected him: *severe* osteoporosis. I mentioned two incidents where I'd suffered cracked ribs after very minor impacts as well as a broken sternum in a traffic accident.

The treatment felt like an assault. I've never much liked those popper things (Chiropractic Adjustment Tools) some chiropractors use, but no one has ever used one on me with such shocking abandon as this. And he especially attacked my neck, hammering me with what seemed dozens of intense jabs with the popper up and down the sides of my neck. I think that is a dangerous technique for osteoporosis.

Worst of all, however, was the violent jerk with which he pulled at my leg, dragging me down the couch with a snap to my ankle and causing my knee to pop with a very sharp pain and a shocking noise. I shouted with the pain. (Later he told me he believed I hadn't really experienced any pain, I was just shocked by the noise it made. Yes, he said that.) I have never in my life had any chiropractor jerk my leg in such a way, nor cause me such pain—both immediate and long-lasting. Afterwards my knee was sharply painful going downstairs, in a way I have never before experienced, and it seemed worryingly destabilized, as if it would pop backwards or give way at any moment. I stopped going to the gym for fear of exacerbating the injury.

The appointment was on Wednesday. On Friday morning I emailed Dr. Cox with my fear not only that he had caused actual soft-tissue damage to my knee, but also to report that my neck muscles had spasmed painfully. He ignored my email, and a phone message, from Friday morning to Monday morning, then emailed to say sorry, he'd been on a weekend retreat and would call me that day. He didn't call. I emailed again to say that my knee injury and neck spasm were worse and I felt it was urgent. I phoned.

No response till Thursday night, at which time he again referred to my 'osteopenia'. He gave me a choice of the next morning or the following week. I went in on Friday morning and expressed my concerns. He gave me another treatment, with reduced force, in the attempt to make good the damage.

It really seemed to me that Dr. Cho took no cognizance of my age and particular risk factors to modify his preferred treatment method, and I think that is dangerous. In my opinion, any chiropractor should know that joints become more vulnerable with age, but the force he used on my leg is something I never received from any chiropractor even at age twenty-five, though I have experienced that particular adjustment many times in the past.

He partially succeeded in restoring the damage at the second appointment, but I have still not been back to the gym and I still feel in worse shape than I was before I went to him. And my neck's still a mess and most unusually for me, I now seem to have a permanent headache.

And he wanted another hundred and fifty bucks for his trouble.

If you are a young and fit athlete, maybe he's the man for you. I would advise caution to anyone over the age of 55. I will not be going back.

My mother has several health issues that in the past several months, weakened her leg and resulted in severe difficulty in standing, never mind walking, as well as excruciating back pains during the night. Because my parents were not especially keen on chiropractic to say the least(never having done it), I had a tough time but finally convinced her to go. My sister and I pored over dozens of websites in the area and chose Dr. Cho because of the numerous positive reviews. He asked many questions and listened carefully regarding mom’s pain complaints, medical history, past injuries, habits, etc. and started hands on therapy in an earnest effort to help her right away. That night, mom did not have that severe pain and has not had it for the two weeks that we have been going to him. Although her leg problem is so severe that nothing short of a miracle will make her walk right away and will take some time, in just one session her leg was stable enough to stand on and moving less erratic that it made an instant believer of chiropractic out of her. It even made pessimistic mom more hopeful since she felt better than she had been in a long while.
Dr. Cho devotes much time and energy into each session trying to make my mom better as soon as possible. He has an abundance of Far East AND Western knowledge of the human body as well as ailments that might be effecting one’s health in addition to the polite, sensible manners that put even the tensest patients like mom at ease. BTW, I personally didn’t need convincing re chiropractic which is one of the most underrated physical therapies (if people are hesitant to try different treatments due to closed-mindedness--the slapstick way that the media portrays chiro is partly to blame for that—then too bad for them) and because I happened to have a knee that got out-of-whack recently and wasn’t healing so well, he has treated it several times and it feels so much better and is on its way to recovery. There are no deceitful tricks with chiropractic and the only trick is finding a good one and if you happened to read this review which was made possible thanks to other reviews that made me pick Dr. Cho, then you have found a good chiropractor named Dr. Brian Cho.

Dr Cho has been our family's chiropractor for over ten years now and we have witnessed his development into an experienced practitioner of his art, eager to keep learning new techniques and to use them appropriately. Most recently he adjusted my foot and solved my issue in one visit and, not content to leave at that, he treated my whole spine while I was there. It was the best $100 I have spent in a long time. Previously I had visited a local podiatrist who had put a "band aid" on the problem but not solved it. Dr Cho, thank you for your expertise, friendly manner and professionalism; we are thankful that you are part of our community. (I gave five starts for staff although I don't think Dr Cho has any but, if he did, I am sure they would be great - just like him!!)

I, too have been to a few chiropractors in my time. When Dr.Cho places electrodes on areas of my lower back, I know that he is preparing my body for the adjustments to come. No other chiropractor has done this, therefore my adjustments are deep and lasting. I leave Dr.Cho's office pain free......This too, never happened before Dr.Cho....In fact, with all previous chiropractors, I frequently left their offices in almost the same pain I came with.I recommend Dr. Cho wholeheartedly.

Lower back injury, plantar fasciitis, upper spine & neck stiffness and other symptoms....I have had satisfying & lasting relief from all of them by Dr. Cho. I have had chiropractic treatment for over sixty years with many chiropractors and, without doubt, Dr. Cho is the best. He is very personable, knowledgeable and competent. I highly recommend him!

The best doc that I've seen in a very long time. He was able to resolve my chronic headache problem that I have suffered from following a car accident 10 years ago.

Dr. Cho is very knowledgeable--that is very apparent when you talk to him. On the downside, he doesn't spend too much time with me when I go in for a treatment. For most of the treatment he is out of the room, juggling other patients, while I have been hooked up to the machines. I will go back to my old chiropractor that gives lots of one-on-one time. Also the front desk receptionist could be more welcoming and friendly.
