Dr. (Tony) Garnet is one the most caring doctor's I have known. I was a patient during the 80's and early 90's when I had to move to the mainland for 15 years. When I moved back to the island in2011 I haven't been able to find a doctor that I am comfortable with. If you have him as your doctor now keep him as you will find no better in my opinion. I have been travelling back to White Rock since 2011 at my own expense. I have a lump in my neck now and would give anything to have him take my case on the island.

Dr. Garnett is great. When I couldn't find a family doctor, he took me on, despite a full patient load (he knew me from the University). He is never condescending. Is willing to work with you to find an acceptable treatment. He is always respectful. He's good with my kids. He could stand to read a bit more to keep up with new advances, but who couldn't? I agree that his punctuality is lacking, but it's because he takes the time to hear his patients out. He doesn't rush for the sake of being on time, and I appreciate that. Internals and PAP exams are painfree, and conducted with total respect (a rarity, in my experience!) He's not afraid to say he doesn't know something, and will look things up for you. He will refer to a specialist easily. I really love him as a doctor!

The service Tony provided to my elderly grandparents and my terminally ill father was absolutely exemplary in every respect. Kindness, competence, straight talk, and common sense were hallmarks of the best of medical care. If Tony every keeps someone waiting, it's because someone else needs him desperately. What doctors all should be.

Dr. Garnett was a v. nice doctor who would listen to you about your problems and I never found him condescending at all. The only problem I had with him was that I had been seeing him for about 6 years and while my file lists my first and middle names, I only go by my middle name - but he still called me by my 1st name, which I really don't like and I have to correct him every time. I don't find that v. attentive if you don't know your patient's name (or doesn't seem to care to use the proper one). And he was such a busy man that I ended up going to drop in clinics more than being able to see him. So many times I would end up waiting more than 45 mins to see him (i.e my appointment is for 11am - I'd be lucky if I got to see him at 11:30 or 11:45 at the earliest). I ended up changing docs because of it, which is unfortunately but I am glad that I did.

Dr. Garnett is a very kind and caring doctor who always listens with genuine concern. I feel very fortunate to have him as a doctor, and hope to stay with him as long as he continues to practice.
