Horrible doctor not knowledgeable at all she needs to retire

Very unprofessional, wouldn’t listen refused me medical help she needs to retire

Dr. Alderdice was very unprofessional , did not listen to my concerns. When I had a reaction to the drug she was treating me with she claimed no such reaction was possible . Upon calling the drug company it turns out that the reaction I had was a possible side effect. When I called the office and asked for a polite explanation , they would not return my call and they dismissed me as a patient, to add injury to insult they wrote a letter to my doctor containing false accusations ..

My appointment with Dr Alderdice was one of the worst interactions I've ever had. She never introduced herself, she sort of listened to my story of pain and then she said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. She took a phone call in the middle of our appointment (without excusing herself) and after doing a few tests, she said my pain was all in my head. Dr Alderdice needs to retire, the medical community and their patients will be better for it.

I would never recommend this doctor. No personality, no ability to educate or discuss things with you (but won’t hesitate to tell you when you are describing your symptoms that the body doesn’t work that way...like I’m making it up) and she can’t think outside the box. I agree with others who said she has no insight into autoimmune conditions and doesn’t have an ounce of knowledge to offer to that. There’s no follow up, just calls and she’s short and rude. It feels like she’s close to retirement and doesn’t care - I think she should speed that up. I’ve met others who have gone and not one is managing their condition well and don’t like her either. Guelph deserves better. Everyone deserves better.

I would strongly suggest that you go elsewhere. Unless you completely fit the mold for a specific disease, she doesn't seem willing to dig in to try and help. Seems more concerned about staying on schedule than listening to her patients, and on a positive note, she is indeed punctual. I brought documentation from other specialists about symptoms that they felt were associated with autoimmune problems, and she wouldn't even look at it. When a doctor asks you "how are you feeling" and you say " I think I'm getting worse" and she says " let's talk about cutting your meds in half" and " I think your family doctor can take it from here".....its time to find another doctor. I did, and was immediately put on immuno surpressants. I don't fit the mold, but I'm still sick! I'm regretting the year that I wasted seeing this doctor who seems to be cruising her way until she retires. Oh, and the doctor I am seeing now has heard similar negative things about Dr. Alderdice. My new doctor spent so much more time with me, and went over every single affected joint and actually listened! It most certainly wasn't like that with Dr. A.

The receptionist is absolutely the most rudest person I have ever had to speak with.

All I can say is find another option.
Sent me for some bloodwork which I failed.
Then was told there's nothing she can do for me
and that was it.Found out a few years later the failed
bloodwork was due to Myloma.
She picks and chooses her patients
with a coin toss

amazing staff and Awesome doctor she never gave up on finding a treatment for me, i am currently living pain free and have my life back.

Doctor is AWESOME. She knew my symptoms as soon as she seen me. Excellent Doctor and deseves recognition.
