Biography
Floyd Russak grew up in Denver and earned his bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University in Chicago studying Music and Biology. He then went on to receive his M.D. degree at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he served on the team that treated President Reagan in 1981. Dr. Russak’s internship and residency training were completed at Harvard Medical School in Internal Medicine. Dr. Russak served on the Faculty of Harvard Medical School for 12 years and was founder of Somerville Family Health, a 10-physician, 4-office multi-specialty practice in Boston, which he sold to Harvard in 1996. He has had numerous television appearances on CBS in Boston. Since 1999, he has been Medical Director at East-West Health Centers, an integrated practice with 20 providers, including 8 MD’s, 2 PA’s, 3 Acupuncturists, 3 Chiropractors, 3 PhD Psychologist, and 1 Board-Certified Naturopath. The East-West Practice was founded in 1997 and now sees up to 200 patients per day. It is a teaching facility for CU, Rocky Vista, and Harvard Medical Schools. Dr. Russak has special training in Travel Medicine and has done Medical Mission work for Project Cure in Ethiopia helping to set up successful hospitals and clinics in Lalibela, Axum, and Mekele. He has served on the Copper Mountain Ski Patrol and was a singer with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. He is the Past-President of the Arapahoe-Douglas-Elbert Medical Society and on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Medical Society. Dr. Russak has a Personalized Medicine Practice at RPM Family Health and Walk-In limited to 350 patients. His hobbies include skiing, sailing, antique maps and travel.
