Dr. Yates has seen me for over 3 yrs with various issues from a car accident while working out of town. He has 'gone to bat' for me on numerous occasions with Workers Comp to make sure that I receive the best care. After 4 surgeries (only 1 w Dr. Yates) numerous epidural and facet injections and various other procedures, I'm confident that Dr. Yates only has my best interest in mind.

I posted the prior review but I thought a follow-up was in order. The referral to the shoulder doctor was a bust. The doctor didn't detect the reduction in blood flow and said that the scoliosis showed a serious narrowing at T2-T3, indicating that at the source of the pain. My physical therapist who is outstanding, evaluated the blood flow issue and discerned it only occurs when I raise my arm AND angle my head, which indicates it is related to the scoliosis. Further, he told me that the main back pain is at the left transverse process. Sad that Yates didn't work this stuff out.

Yates specializes in Scoliosis and interventional pain management. On my first visit, he spent about 45 minutes with me, examining my x-rays, MRI's, etc.. I was impressed with both his thoroughness and his critical ability. He saw all the usual from my scoliosis: spurs, bulges, etc.. But upon examination of me, contorting me in various positions, deduced that I also have an impingement in my shoulder -- and that is the cause of the recent symptoms (pain in my arm and tingling in my hand), vs. radiculopathy from my scoliosis. He couldn't activate my arm pain and tingling by spinal manipulation but was able to by specific shoulder rotations. He also found that the pulse in my left arm got weak in that position. That impressed me, as so few doctors think beyond their specialty! He has referred me to an orthopedic surgeon to verify his analysis.
