I’ve met Dr Tyrrell when I had a pituitary tumor with complications of CSF leak. He is compassionate, listens well, excellent advice, keeps medications down to a minimum, compassionate, knowledgeable and has your best interest at heart. He made my experience as good as he possibly could. Definitely a top doctor for pituitary tumors!

Well informed endocrinologist. He has been the mainstay of my endocrinology treatment for a pituitary tumor for the past 15 years. He listens well and is up-to-date on recent changes in hormone replacement therapy for the condition. He will spend the time necessary to insure that tall the patient's questions are addressed. He has advised me several time of medication adjustments when I faced surgical options for othe problems. I truest him!

Took 3 weeks to return phone class after labs. Dismissed my symptoms, offered no assistance or guidance with symptoms for Primary a Aldosteronism.

Dismissed every symptom I had and every test --- I did not have Cushings --- I was just fat. He kept insisting that there was no problem except RA. When I changed doctors, had surgery, I was able to get 140 lbs. off pretty easily and symptoms disappeared, but he still said there was nothing wrong with me. Terrible doctor, terrible clinician, terrible man.

I have seen this Dr. since 1983 and he has always been there for me and has been right on the target for my medical problems. He and his collegues saved my life twice. I highly recommend him for any and all endocrinological problems. He is thoughtful and thorough in all he does. His staff were always kind and symphatic. I had been to several Drs. for treatment of Cushings disease and all but dr. Tyrrell didnt think I really had Cushings. I required two oporations before they could remove the tumor. I was very sick and Dr. tyrrell was by my side the whole time. When I had lung cancer I called Dr. Tyrrell and he made the arrangements for me to see the lung specialists and surgeons at UCSF and again he was by my side during this crutial time of my life. And again he proved to be an excellent doctor and trusted friend.

Misdiagnosed me. He is a pituitary specialist but not completely up to date on the diagnostic tests or newer protocols of some syndromes. Didn't give an alternate diagnosis to my health issues. Dismissed me to just being overweight. Another endo continued testing and found that I did have a hormone producing pituitary tumor and treated me.
