It's a professional and caring practice. Both my children visited from 2007. Once while waiting in ER with my son, I called the doctor at 2am and doctor Charles called me back in couple of minutes. His advice was helpful and we left the ER further waiting there.

Do not care for this doctor at all. Joined the practice for the younger Dr. Mike and had to deal with Dr. Charles for a few "after hours" calls - one time it was 1pm on a Saturday, the soonest I could call after work, and my son needed an albuterol refill urgently and he gave me a hard time and told me next time I need to take care of it during business hours. Another occasion I called for advice if I needed to take my son to the ER when he was wheezing, and he spent 10 min talking about insurance and why I should only go to one particular hospital just in case the insurance won't pay for it (even though I have been to ERs before and understand the coverage just fine). It was an emergency and I didn't care about insurance at that point! We transferred out of the practice shortly after that. Also, very little office staff, they rarely get back to you in a timely manner, and if you have HMO and need referrals, forget it! Takes forever.

Great pediatric practice. Good mix with Dr Charles being the older, more traditional doc and Dr Mike being the younger, more progressive doc. Seeing both provides good viewpoints from both sides. Very helpful when we call @ 2 am!!!

I think that Dr. Charles Slavik is an excellent doctor. He is very caring, patient, and knowledgeable. If we ever have an after hours question or emergency, he will always call back promptly with help and advice. He has been my child's doctor since he was born in 2001, and hopefully will be for a very long time.

The staff at this office is unhelpful and rude. There seems to be only one office line so that when one calls to make an appointment, the line very often is busy. The office manager also closes the telephone lines for long periods of time during the day so that a patient will typically get the answering service when she calls to make an appointment. Between the phone line being busy or being closed and transferred to the answering service (which will not make appointments), it would typically take a full week of attempted phone calls to make an appointment with this office. Patients' time is not valued at this office. You will waste a lot of time if you use this office. If you try to inform the office manager of the problem, you will not receive any redress as the office manager is married to one doctor and is the mother of the other and takes any complaint about lack of access to the doctors and the difficulty in getting through to make an appointment extremely personally.
