I am very dissapointed in Dr Schabacker. We have tried getting my daughter help to manage her pain and she was denied help by this so called Doctor because she supposedly missed an appointment in 2014 when she wasn't even looking for pain management then, nor doctoring in Billings. Her specialist personally called him and he agreed to see her, but then changed his mind. I can see why Montana has such a problem with chronic pain patients with this level of professionalism. Shame on Dr Schabacker!

I have been a patient at his office for almost three years. I completely respect and would recommend Dr. Schabacker to anyone who is seeking a doctor with experience, understanding, knowledge, and most importantly empathy. I have only had one bad experience and that was with Wade King. I felt he was very insensitive and didn't care to listen to my concerns and wanted to change my meds without even discussing them with me. Thank goodness I made another appt with Dr. S. and he listened to me and we together discussed a plan that we both believed would work. I have always always followed my contract honestly and fully and the staff knows and recognizes those patients who mind it and the ones who don't. He treats me as an individual and doesn't compare me to other patients and because of my honestly I have his complete trust. I only was drug tested once and that was on my first appt which is required and I have gained their trust and haven't had another test and have never had a pill count. I also see Lisa Guthrie in between appts with him and she is beyond awesome! Wish she could also be my regular doctor. Bottom line is follow the rules, be honest, and you will be fine.

Dr Schabacker was very professional, and courteous, and showed concern for my health, and well being. I got nothing but respect for him, and the nurses were very nice and make me feel more comfortable on my visits.

I have seen three pain Specialists in the past 20 years for my chronic pain. Dr. Schabacher was so lacking in every way, that I cannot consider him a pain specialist. Unless,it's due to his ability to make your pain far worse. Possibly, because I m a Medicare patient, he did his very worst, to secure my not being a return patient. He may as well called me a liar, when I tried to explain the problems I have had following the last 2 Cortisone injections I've had. I've received them for over 8 years. And there was no other explanation as to why I would have these symptoms than a reaction to the Cortisone therapy. Being a RN for over 32 years, I do have some knowledge as to what I m discussing with him. Unfortunately, he left the room without telling me why he would put me on a smaller dosage of pain medication than I ve been on since before I started pain management therapy. And he did not suggest any conjunctive therapies either. This is the 2nd chance I have given him, out of necessity. And it is the last. I've had multiple neck and back surgeries with other pain related diagnoses. I can't remember the last time that I've received such belittling, such uselessness, and such a disappointment when seeking help from a Professional. He should change his name to Dr. Menghalla. He was very much in favor of making patients suffer.

Dr. Schabacker and PA Wade King are very professional and I have confidence in their care on site but it's a bit tough to address any issues outside of your scheduled appts. I think the front office staff members are somewhat stiff and I have wondered if they are frightened of interacting or getting too close with a "chronic pain patient"...

Very professional and knowledgable physician and genuinly concerned for the welfare of his patients. Concerned about abuse of pain killers; however, that is appreciated and needed in this day and age. There is far too much abuse out there for him to not be careful to dot his i's and cross his t's.

My first visit was last week. Dr. Schabacker was excellent. He spend so much time with me as a new patient. I was drug tested, pyschological test, and signed several forms about being called in at any time for drug testing or to have my medication counted. They are very strict, but with this speciality, it apparently is a must. The staff were very respectful. I know there will be inconviences with the above things, but with 5,000 patients all receiving some form of narcotics, I will not complain. If you are drug seeking or have other negative behaviors associated with narcotics, probably not the place for you. This doctor wants to help you with your pain issues, but there are concrete rules.

Dr. Schabacker, Wade &Staff are all polite and very knowledgeable in treatment and Pain Mgmt. discussions, It was full attention on me, and my treatment, and at the utmost respect. You do take a Psychological Test and Also a Drug Screen for possible abuse, In this day and age you cannot blame the MD's for checking, and they have the right to treat you, or turn you away. Obviously if you are of an abusive nature or do not meet criteria that is their choice. Some may need to step back, and see if they are the negative ones not blame the Physicians and Staff, What you are defines you and you can always take your business elsewhere.
