Doctor Brown and his team are efficient, patient services driven and extremely easy to understand. Following surgery in January I had a catheter as I could not pee. My previous doctor was hard to get a rapid appointment with, the front desk took up to 20 minutes to contact and then were no help. I wound up in ER in March where they installed a larger catheter and requested I see my urologist asap. My previous doctor could not get me in until May. Dr Brown was recommended. They got me in as a new patient in a little over 2 weeks. The front desk answered the phone right away,. Obtained needed information on my background, and was very cordial and helpful. Doctor Brown and his nurse worked together as a team. On my first visit they scoped my bladder, ran test on my ability to pass urine via computer monitoring, discovered a very enlarged prostate, and provided medication which I should have already been given. I now have NO catheter, and am urinating on my own. I highly recommend Dr Brown and his team.

As a retired physician myself who sees Dr. Brown and was formerly an assistant professor at OHSU and still a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, the reviewers that keep citing the "probation by the Medical Board" have no idea what they are talking about. Medical Boards are unregulated tyrannical entities with no way to push back against them. I once wrote a very nasty letter to the head of the Oregon State Health Insurance Commission for the State Insurance Denying cancer care to a poor patient of mine that would have been life saving. I was placed on probation for being "unprofessional" in defending my patient by using strong language in denouncing the government. Dr. Brown has served honorablly in the military and has pioneered many surgical techniques and saved my life from prostate cancer when THREE other urologists told me to go home and die and that there was nothing that could be done. I am now five years cancer free. Do NOT demean this man. He is Number ONE of all the urologists in Olympia for GOOD REASON.

I went him because he is the best choice because of where I live we have few choices. I had a tough kidney stone that was causing severe pain. I was sent to Capital Medical to have it blasted with sonic waves. Well the process didn't work and so I had to re do the procedure. I was sent to Mason General and the procedure went well. I feel that other don't understand Dr. Brown. I don't have an issue with his humor. He has a weird sense of humor and sometimes is comments are different this doesn't stop me from going back to see him. He is really good at what he does.

Honestly, hands down the most condescending and rude doctor I have ever met. He opened the door and then knocked, he tried to correct my pronunciation of a word I did not pronounce incorrectly (I was wearing a mask for Pete’s sake), he immediately told me upon entering the room that he couldn’t do anything for me and that I was the first person in his career with my symptoms. He then proceeded to ask my why I was there ( I was referred by my PCP) and then tell me I was perfect. I asked how, I’m having new and honestly slightly alarming symptoms, he could justify calling me perfect when I obviously know there’s something not right happening. He proceeded to then finally ask my questions that I had already answered on my new patient questionnaire and then declared he knew what I had. I find it hard to take that information seriously when he was so rude throughout the entire experience. I will be contacting my PCP and letting them know that a referral to this doctor needs to come with a warning for his complete lack of bedside manner and social skills in general. He then proceeded to schedule me for a 6-month follow up. If you can’t help me, why am I paying you more money? To be belittled again? Oh and he flashed someone else’s medical paperwork in front of me, which is clearly a HIPAA violation.

I met with Dr Brown in June to review the findings of a recent procedure not provided by him. He was readily available as I was alone in the waiting room. He listened attentively to the situations and procedures. Everything looked good and suggested that I return in six months. In December I received a bill for fifty dollar’s for a no show. His receptionist stated that I was given an appointment card at the initial visit and the Dr told her that was plenty’ of notice and the bill would stand. It seems sad that a practicing physician finds it necessary to punish retired and disabled patients for forgetting a six month old appointment with out texting a reminder as all other practitioners have. I had not heard of Dr Browns probation with his superiors, perhaps the fifty dollars is a financial necessity.

Dr. Brown offered one option, biopsy, the next Dr. offered and completely explained 5 options. Dr. Brown was arrogant and disrespectful and seemed to think he could talk to me like I was his subordinate. Had I read his reviews first (my fault) I would have known not to see him. I found it interesting that a bad review in Oct. 2014 was followed by 4 five star reviews over 3 days in Dec. 2014.

I was made to feel uncomfortable by Dr. Brown. He argued with me rather than trying to help my condition. I just wanted help for some problems I had been having. They are not easy problems, but they are mine I am having them and he didn't have to be so rude. The receptionist was lovely however.

Very rude, disrespectful, had a stent pût in for a stricture in ureter. That didn't help so had to have it removed . Sent to seattle for a kidney test which was fine. Dr said it had nothing to do with my urinary trac in seattle. Asked for something for pain treated me like I was a drug addict. Supposably I gave a obstruction. That explains why my stomache hurts so bad.

Total chaos! Mistakes are to be expected. I would not trust your care to them. If they make a mistake they will blame you for it.
