Like a previous poster, I liked Dr. Mayol at first. She is friendly and caring, a good listener and takes her time answering your questions. But sometimes her advice is faulty -- she told me twice that I needed to retract the foreskin on my uncircumcised son. She completely missed a diagnosis of a relatively minor problem, but one that required out-patient surgery and that could have become serious if it had been left alone. Only after I googled the symptoms and brought in the information that I found did she refer me to a specialist at Childrens Hospital. I think she's fine for the basic well-child visits and for run-of-the-mill illnesses (ear infections, flus, etc.) but I no longer trust her for anything more serious. I am shopping for a new pediatrician.

I liked Dr. Mayol at first, but over time have had numerous issues. If you are nursing, she might not be your first pick as she told me numerous times that I needed to wean my baby. During a ear infection, she prescribed an antibiotic that caused severe vomiting, followed by my baby catching 2 stomach infections. I think the antibiotic messed up the good flora in her stomach. She never suggested probiotics during the antibiotic course. I later started this when I heard about it from another doctor in the practice. At her 15 month check, my baby was very underweight.I asked for a referral to a nutritionist and a GI.She basically had no names to refer to me.My daugher drinks very little milk, and she failed to suggest calcium supplements until I asked about it, i.e., she didn't think of it on her own. Again someone else in the practice later provided me with names. I was shocked that she has no good referrals. I'm now switching practices. I need someone who will pay attention to details.

Love her! She is always helpful and on time and seems to remember us each time. However, the front office staff is rude. I've been told to wait while they chatted about lunch once and they forgot about me. I had to remind them twice I was there!

Always helpful and listens. She really knows her stuff and answers her phone messages promptly and never makes us feel like just a number.
