I was a patient for 20 years and he was a great help not only as a GP but being a diabetic. I moved east back in 2005 and miss the good doctors expertise.

Went for a marine medical. Could overhear his conversation with a patient on the phone because he's having them in the reception area. Was treated very poorly for just being a woman. Patronized and asked if I have a Y chromosome. Asked if I've had a C section. Asked if I have needle use and HIV. Asked way too many questions for a basic marine medical. Doesn't understand that this piece of paper can easily make someone blacklisted in the Marine Industry for life. No I don't have any heart issues you asked too many times. Stop trying to fail people and get them unemployed. Receptionist said if BC FERRIES doesn't accept her invoice then to call their HR. If Transport Canada doesn't hurry then to call them. NO lady I'm calling you to ask for a new invoice or asking if you sent the provisional. Said to claim it on my TAXES!! Thats not even how that works!!!! Trash facility, sexist doctor and office stuck in the stone age.

I don't know if Dr. Hawthorn is retired now or not as we moved to the Island but he was my Dr. for about 35 + years and he was excellent! His office manager/receptionist (Susan I believe) was also fantastic. Never in all my years did I ever have to wait more than 5 mins, and if I did he always apologized. I wish he was still our doctor. Terrible doctors over here, and now we don't have one.

Dr. Hathorne is not up to date with his medical knowledge (he discounted lung cancer due to the patient being a non-smoker leading to his death).
Dr. Hathorne cannot read radiology reports even though a quick google search indicated possible lung cancer.
Dr. Hathorne disregards input and concerns about his patient from family and friends.

Dr Hathorn is a wonderful doctor. He is caring and always very nice.
The receptionist is rude, cruel, ignorant, narcissistic, evil and just an awful person.
I believe she has a borderline personality and does not care one bit about another human being. I'm sick and tired of her and can't wait till I never have to see or hear her voice again. I will miss Dr Hathorn when he retires but I will be glad to never see awful person again. She is bully and a liar. She will never get a job somewhere else that would put up with that behaviour. She needs to lock herself in her home and never leave and I hope she does not have children. If so, I pity them.

Very cruel with a little care for the person he is treating, just the money, very rude, without an inside for the persons needs. He mistreated my daughter and refused to send her for further treatment and assessment. Brutal, malpractitioner

Years of annual visit eventually resulted in annual search for some subject on which to lecture me. Seemed intent on finding something.. usually Weight (always going to be over 'acceptable'). For last several years, have chosen to go to walk-in clinics when needed.

Has been my GP for over 15 years. Nice manner about him, knowledgeable and has given me effective treatments. I’m lucky I don’t have to many health issues but will be sorry when he retires.
