Dr Zerick operated on my neck in 2020. After waiting for six hours for him to arrive . I should have left the pre op area. Now I have more pain and difficulties than I had before. Three other doctors have told me there is nothing they can do to correct my neck sitting !

saw Dr. Zerick on Nov 21, 2019. I found him to be the most arrogant, rude and mean Doctor I ever met in my life. I waited 2 months for an appointment just to have him spend 30 minutes screaming at me like I was a total idiot. My husband is a Vietnam veteran and he said he yelled at me worse than he saw prisoners interrogated in war! Now I have to start all over finding a Dr. for my surgery! He may be a good surgeon, but he can be a terrible person!!

It’s been ten years since I had a laminectomy on L5. I had awesome recovery. The hospital Riverside was inept and actually fired the temp who was stealing my pain medication. They rescheduled my surgery twice was going to a third time when my husband went off. We had spent so much time up and back a two-hour trip one way. He said under no circumstances can you call this an emergency surgery when is taking 5 months to get scheduled. No fault of the doctor. I went to two other Neurosurgeons. One said he wouldn’t touch it, another said I don’t know. I’ll have to operate and see what I find when I get in there. Say Whaaaa? He was a definite NO. Then found Dr. Zerick who had fixed a friend of mine. I went to him in Marietta. Closer to my home. He took around 5 minutes to look at MRI’s. When finished told me I can fix that!! I saw what he did for my friend. She was back to normal. Now I was born with a birth defect, I always had pain. Nothing like what I was having now. Spina bifida they called it. He had to remove the vertebra. He was sure he could fix it. I believed him. He did. I was walking in 4 days. Something they said I may never do again. This was the rush. I was going to be paralyzed if I didn’t have surgery and no one knew when. So they scheduled me. That is when the fiasco making me come back for emergency surgery?? I’m more perturbed at Riverside than him. He was excellent at the surgery. I was good for last ten years. Now have literally what feels like electric shocks in my back. My MD won’t listen about. I’m on a contract no pain medication. Over 5 years. So can’t say is that. I have 20K invested in sobriety because with all my problems I became hooked on opiates. When asking old DO for help getting off them. He told me I was on my own. Then two months later lied and said the meds he gave me weren’t in my system. I was an addict. Of course they were. He then discontinued being my DO. What a waste of an oath he was. Williams out of Marietta. Was his name. Dr. Zerick is the best and am so thrilled I had him to do my surgery. He’s indeed 1 in a million! Doctor Zerick I don’t know if you read these but thank you Sir. For everything. You gave me back a big part of my life. I’m not able to work still but at least I can clean my house. Before Dr. Zerick? I couldn’t do that! He’s the best really. Thank you for reading.

I went to see Dr Zurich as recommended by my physician for a follow up after an MRI showed 3 bulging discs in my lower back. When he came into my exam room with 2 other people that were not introduced to me he sat down and put his head on his hand and started shaking it. I had no idea why I was there for a CONSULT visit, he became immediately confrontational with me which was a surprise asking me what I have done about my back pain, why haven't I don't this and this and this, accused me of working out, I haven't been able to lift a weight for years, it was the most unprofessional situation I have EVER been in at a doctors office for a consult. He apparently gets away with treating patients in this manner and is not doing this for the original reasons he signed up for medical school. I attempted to discuss my pain and symptoms which he shrugged off and told me there was nothing wrong with me even though I presented him with a disc and report of my MRI that says I have 3 bulging discs in my back. It all made NO sense and I felt like I was in a twilight zone situation. What kind of doctor isn't caring and compassionate and basically treated me like I was a moron. I will not be returning EVER to his practice and I suggest others find another neurosurgeon out there who cares about his job and not his bank account. Completely disappointing experience for only a consult, I was not there asking for pain medication I didn't even want any of that. Highly unprofessional man who obviously has a miserable life to be fine with treating others this way.

Dr. Zerick has shown my wife and I he is one of the best in Ohio. We came in to the hospital ---my wife with stenosis and a staph infection in her old back hardware...they discovered all of that and had emergency surgery...then complications due to the infection...spent 23 days straight in the hospital. We are on the mend now. I trust Dr. Zerick. He explains things so that we can all udnerstand. It became very complicated surgeries...and he was great. I HIGHLY recommend him as one of the top back surgeons in Ohio! And has a great team with him. St. Ann's neurosurgery floor is great! I would trust him with my life...we did just that for my wife...and we are on a positive rebound. Lucky to have found him.

I have had 4 neck and 2 lumbar surgeriesof the past 20 years...fusions at C4-C5, C5-C6, C6-C7, L4-L5 nd laminectomies at C5-C7 and L4-L5. Dr. Zerick has done all of them and ALL have drastically improved my quality of life. Now have stenosis at L2-L3 and L3-L4 that's crushing my spinal cord and nerve roots. He has always had me do cconservative treatments (physical therapy, steroid dose packs, epidural injections, rest, "wait and see",etc) prior to conisdering surgery. Epidurals have never helped with any of my conditions. So now I'm facing laminectomy and fusions at L2-L3 and L3-L4 in a few weeks. I wouldn't even consider having another surgeon operate on me! And as for office wait times...they can sometimes be long and there is a good reason he gets behind. He does a VERY detailed review of your case and takes time to explain everything. At my last office visit, he spent over an hour with me in the exam room listening to me describe my pain, weakness, and other issues to determine exactly where the problem is as MRI's don't always show everything. He also takes the time to review EVERY MRI's to ensure nothing was missed by the radiologist which has happened to me twice. Budgeting 15-20 mins per patient and taking longer quickly pushes appointment times. If the wait bothers you then schedule your appointment for first thing in the morning.
He is the only person I'd want to operate on my family members if they needed neurosurgery!
