Dr. Canales is the WORST doctor ever! I have a special needs son that almost died cause of this incompetent man.He missed diagnosed my son with pneumonia and after a week in the hospital sent him home. Later that day my son started having trouble breathing and was rushed to the hospital. He was in the NICU for a month before he was flown to Dallas Children's hospital. He had a muscle biopsy, and diagnosed him properly and sent home with a treatment plan. The following year my son was admitted to the NICU and put on a respirator. His pediatrician Dr Rich(whom I think is great)and his neurologist were discussing what to do next when Dr Canales came in to check my son. My husband wated to beat the crap ou of him. We told him to stay the hell away from our son and we told our other doctors he is to have no contact or input on my son's treatment. I've beeen to his office once before with a family member before i knew of him. We sat in the office for like 3 hrs. That is unacceptable. Looser!

I myself was a pt of Dr. Canales, my family and mother had much faith in him. Whenever we had anything come up from simple colds to more severe instances he would handle it in a second! Although the common thing we all hear is his busy life, but let me remind you he has a huge patient load and for a good reason. I highly doubt people wait those long hrs just for fun. When he has patients in the hospital he is continously updated by staff or calls in himself to make sure everything is ok. We are all human mistakes can happen to anyone, but this amazing man has a million things he does right and for people that make up for those few erros. I had to spend days in the hospital with a close family member and other MD's such as Dr. Rich and many more consult him or transfer care because they are not sure on what to do. I will always be thankful for his wonderful care and be glad he is our go to person for medical needs. Dont let looks or rumors fool you this man is truly one in a million!:)

Dr. Canales was my pediatrician, and now sees my 3 boys. While there is a wait to see him, the wait time has improved dramaticly. You can request which dr to see in his clinic or find out which clinic he will be at to see him. All the doctors at his clinics have always been very helpful, and listened to each and everyone of my questions. When my twins were released from the NICU at the hospital, and had to go to his clinic, I informed his staff, and was able to wait in another lobby of the building until called so as not to put my kids at risk.Ive learned the best thing to do if go prepared, I take snacks for my kids, and something for them to be entertained with. I have all my questions/comments written out before and take notes, and have even notified his staff when they have an incomplete file. I've never seen a Dr with normal 8-5 hospital rotation visits, but at the hosp, Dr. Canales will answer any/all your questions. LIike any dr visit, if your prepared, things go smoothly.

I hate the bad srvice. I spend 5 hours in the waiting room. My son had fever and sore throat. The service is the worst ever. I swear myself to never put my son in such situation.

Dr. Canales is the worst Dr. I have ever met.The wait times in his office is unbelieveable, especially when your child is sick and fussy. My son is specials needs and had become very sick. Dr.Canales admitted my son to the hospital for a week claimimg it was pneumonia. My son was so swollen all over his body, he looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. He sent my son home and we had to rush him to emergency room that night. He went into Code Green and was on a ventilator for a week in the NICU. Doctor Canales came into my son's room and we told him to get out. We informed our pediatric Dr.Rich that he was to have no contact with our son. He misdiagnosed him and another Dr. found out my son had a virus that affected his muscles not pneumonia. He is incompetent. Plus when my son was first in the hospital he saw my son like twice. He would come and turn on the lights to the room at 2 or 3 in the morning. Then I would have to try to put my son back to sleep. Who sees patients at that time.

Fabulous Doctor, WHEN you get to see him. He's taken very good care of my special needs son for 9yrs. As well as my other 2 kids. I worry, he's very busy all the time, but he is dedicated to his patients, and their parents. Office staff is tepid at best. I've waited hours in the ER for Dr. Canales to show up, but, is usually worth the wait.
