Several of these reviews are spot-on! Dr Hodde was great when she was part of the Upland Foothill Psychological team. When she moved to Claremont, it's true-her demeanor changed completely, stopped caring, would address my questions with surprise like she had no idea she had instructed me to update her or follow up with her to evaluate changing meds. She diagnosed me quite quickly and prescribed antipsychotic meds when I had told her I had chronic depression for over 15 years and responded well to certain meds. But she insisted I try other meds, new meds, she would prescribe them off-label which I would find within months that would make me violent, and my body would not stop shaking. I even went to the emergency room for help to stop shaking because it was driving me insane. I couldn't even lay down to sleep at night without feeling like I had to tap or kick or wiggle. It was horrendous! When I reported the symptoms she looked at me like I was the problem and was acting offended that perhaps she made a bad call and simply needed to change course. instead she added more meds to try to help those symptoms. After practically getting divorced and nearly admitting myself to a psych ward (they didn't accept me but I felt I needed to be there,) I gradually weaned myself off of her nasty drugs with the help of a simple valium to relax myself enough to handle the withdrawal over 4 weeks at the direction of ER. I didn't doubt that I have chronic depression, but I'm pretty sure the cocktails she was pushing were insurance of returned visits to her lovely brand new construction office. She is obviously stressed about the start up transition of her own office, but her mental health patients are being manipulated for her financial benefit. Very unfortunate, I felt very comfortable with her in the beginning before she opened her own office. Since I weaned off of her cocktails, I haven't been on ANY meds for over 3 years. I simply go to the gym 5 days a week and perhaps take 1 HALF pill of Adivan a month when I have over-the-top PMS mood swings. I lost a lot of friends because the meds she had me on made me look like I was on speed and couldn't stop moving.. My husband even called during an emergency when felt I needed to be admitted and your response to him was, "so I don't understand, I don't get it, what do you think I can do?" Um.......maybe more meds, that's your M.O. Even the E.R first approached me about seeming "drug seeking," That's when I begged them to help me get admitted to an institution, that they could check all hospital and pharmacy records in the world and all I have taken was my measely prescription. I told them I felt I was misdiagnosed that I called her and she refused to help and that I wanted something to help me get off the stuff she gave me. They asked me if I was schitzophrenic, apparently that was the primary purpose of the med she gave me for my CHRONIC DEPRESSION

Dr. Hodde has been
Caring, knowledgeable, and effective in my care, she does not give medication out like candy and in fact has been very careful with my care. Many times I’ve gone in thinking she would be critical of me but actually was the completely the opposite and is very compassionate. I’m thankful I found her and I continue to improve.
The staff is very professional and has provided me with good front office care; I feel that they gone the extra mile for me.
From Dr. Hodde to the staff all are very professional and I score them all very high.
It’s been my experience that there maybe times we don’t see the care immediately it may take time to build a relationship, but has I said in the beginning of my remakes, I have only had a nice pleasant experience with Dr. Hodde and staff.

Terrible Dr. At first she's awsome but then she slowly stops caring. She's only in it for the money and has a very condescending personality. She prescribes medications like candy then has the nerve to turn that around on her patients calling them drug seekers. She has no compassion and cares more about her "kick backs" from the pharmaceutical companies. All in all as a former patient her methods disgust me and id love to see her get suedand sstripped of her license.

I never actually saw Dr. I scheduled an appt., but her staff canceled the day prior, much to my dismay. They said I didn't call in time to confirm the appt. Well, if they'd let me know they were going to need confirmation, I would've been sure to check my messages, but I'd had a bad day & missed the call. I'd already rec'd a recorded reminder the night before, which said call 24 hrs. in adv. if need to cancel, so I thought everything was set. Nope, they called AGAIN & expect you to call back to confirm. I left msg. on her cell to explain & see if she could fit me in; never heard back, not even 1-2 weeks later. Not a good sign. You can see forms you need to fill out on her website. She seems thorough & strict, which may/may not be good. Another problem: form says if she's deposed/subpoenaed about you, you'll be charged $450/hr., including travel time! I think that's a bit much! Overall, poor customer service, & can see why others at various websites say she's just in it for the $.

I love Dr. Hodde. She has been helping me and my son for many years. She is so caring, and really listens to me about all of my, and my sons, personal concerns and troubles. I find her to be so knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has been a real miracle in my life. I have seen some real weird psychiatrist in the past. I was so greatful when I found her. She is so normal and personable. I know there was trouble with her staff, but is now on track, and they are great.

I began seeing Dr. Hodde when she was located in Upland. At that time she was consistently late with her appointments. She spent more time with me than I was told many Psychiatrists often do with their patients. Likewise, I was impressed with her "bedside manner." She seemed to genuinely take an interest in her patient's well being. However, Dr. Hodde has since moved her practice to a location in Claremont & after several days of trying, I have yet to schedule an appointment. Her receptionist (who's name is Jessica) is incredibly rude, put me on hold for 15+ minutes and then proceeded to hang up on me after I called back a second time. I called several more times and unfortunately got voice mail. Although I feel Dr. Hodde was a good doctor, I will not be returning to her. This girl is a direct reflection of Dr. Hodde's new practice and if this is how she is now running her business, I will certainly choose professionalism over bedside manner. Incredibly, disappointing...

I was a patient of Dr. Hodde's for about 4 years. She is really nice. The only problem is that in the last year I was seeing her two of the medications I was taking, both of them caused blurred vision. I asked her to please reduce the dosage because my vision was getting worse. She told me "abosolutely not, you need to get stronger prescription glasses". Then gave me the same prescription refill. She is all about getting her "kick back" from every patient who fills the prescriptions she writes! Becareful!!!!!
