Dr . Picker has EXCELLENT bedside manner!! He spends as much time as you need for complete consultation, when he says he will call you, HE STICKS TO HIS WORD! The BEST DOCTOR WE HAVE EVER HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET... not just a Neurosurgeon.... ANY SURGEON!!

I saw Dr Picker years ago for sudden Lower back pain following a fall on a staircase. He immediately ordered therapeutic pain management treatments, and along with medication I was able to prevent any surgical intervention. In my opinion, most surgeons would be ready to pull the scalpel out and treat the condition surgically. He worked with me about a year and I will only have a flare up a couple of times a years when I have really overworked my lower back. Still no surgery! He also is a kind compassionate gentleman with a very gentle voice that put me quite at ease as I was a single Mother at the time and very concerned how I could possibly manage being off work for an extended period of time.

Dr Picker is a compassionate,
caring doctor. The first time I met him I liked how he had all my tests and x-rays on his laptop and explained everything about my diagnosis. When I left his office I felt very confident in his prognosis.

I had the pleasure of Dr. Picker operating on my L4-5 and had instant results! He advised me the probability of another disc blowing out was high.
4 years later he removed my L3-4 and worked feverishly longer than expected. Today 24 years later I live a pain free life thanks to him!

Dr. Picker is without a doubt one of the best doctors I've ever been to. His bedside manner is second to none. I honestly don't know what I would have done without him. I had surgery on my L5 and he did a great job. 10 years later - I re-ruptured it. He did not immediately jump on surgery this time and advised me to do physical therapy and helped me work though it all and so far *fingers crossed* No surgery yet. I've recommended several friends to him and not one person has come back with anything negative to say about him. Wish more doctors were like him.

I met Dr. Picker and Dr. Curylo at Mercy as a cancer was eating at my spine at T-9. The doctors did a fusion from T-5 to L-1 to keep me from being paralized. Dr. Picker was extremely positive and when I went back to have the 59 staples removed he stood in the door in wonder as I stood with the help of my walker. He is very positive and the best doctor I have ever met. I highly recommend him for his work and his overall demeanor. The best of the best.

My Mom saw Dr. Picker for a tumor on her spine, he assisted the spine surgeon with the biopsy. My parents were amazed with him. I can see why. I met him after the biosy and he was great. My parents said he spent so much time with them at his office showing them all the films, and scans explainng what they would do in surgery and gave them hope. Something we all are needing. After surgery he took the time answering all of our questioins, which we had many of. I can'g say enough about this wonderful doctor. Not only was he great with my parents he answered all of mine and my siblings questions.
