I have been a patient of Dr. Comite for a number of years and have always found him to be professionally competent, compassionate, and helpful. I also find his staff to be professionally competent, polite, and caring as well. Dr. Comite takes the time to explain what he is doing and what I need to do which I find really helpful.

Dr. Comite is a compassionate and dedicated professional. I was also self-conscious and insecure about my skin, but Dr. Comite helped me improve it. My wedding was in April 2018, and my skin was flawless. My photographer captured beautiful photos, in which did not require any editing. My skin looked fantastic. I'm extremely grateful for finding Dr. Comite and will be forever appreciative for the skin in my wedding pictures.

I'm very surprised by all of the 5-star reviews for Dr Comite. That should be a sign that perhaps some of these reviewers may not be authentic?  

I believe Dr Comite has good intentions.  But patients should watch out for certain business practices designed to keep you coming back for more visits than required. For example, Dr Comite may take samples and send them to a lab but will insist that you visit him each week for a quick billable visit where he will look at you for 30-seconds and say 'we're still waiting for the lab results to come in'..... if you're not careful, the office may keep this up for up many weeks and then try to repeat the process.  If you choose to visit Dr Comite or any dermatologist, do not go back to the office for a visit until you're certain any test or lab results are in, otherwise you will be paying for meaningless visits.  Also, the costs of these lab results seem to vary. It's good to ask questions about why one particular lab result may cost $70 and another similar one may cost $400?

Another thing that a patient needs to be aware of is that Dr Comite's philosophy toward dermatology is all about 'managing' and reducing your symptoms.  In my opinion, he seems to more much focused on long-term, minimally invasive procedures.. such as the application of topical medications, and recommending lifestyle changes and over-the-counter products, etc rather than prescribing powerful medicines or employing hi-tech devices and techniques that other doctor's may not hesitate to recommend.

In the past, Dr Comite has given me one diagnosis and then months later, he will offer a contradictory diagnosis.  If your condition does not improve, I have seen him become agitated and blame the patient and their genetics for the problem or lack of progress.  At other times, Dr Comite was very kind, patient and attentive. So it your treatment depends on his mood that day.

Another tip if you visit any dermatologist for a consultation, is that you might just go into the office to deal with a small, localized issue, but the doctor will insist on giving you a 'full-body' exam, which will quadruple the cost of your consultation without warning. If you are paying out-of-pocket, then I advise you to refuse this request for a 'full-body' exam if you are just going in for a quick consultation.

Overall, I think Dr Comite cares for his patients. But if you're not seeing any improvement in your condition after several months, then don't hesitate to seek care elsewhere.

Great dermatologist. He is thorough, thoughtful, and the consummate professional. Have had various issues over the years that he treats with care, concern, research-backed advice, and urgency when appropriate. The staff follows his lead, and will be there with you to the point of literally holding your hand if they think it will help. And the doctor follows up any procedure , even minor, with a call at night – seriously, who does that?

I received "a courtesy call" from him the evening of my first visit to see if I had any questions. He didn't conduct a procedure that I might be recovering from, so it appeared overly solicitous. He ended the conversation by muttering something about my writing a review. Abusing a system that's designed to help patients and not unjustly inflate a physician's rating on a website is wrong and, in my opinion, indicative of poor character. As for my visit, it was mediocre at best, e.g., when I requested a chemical peel, listed on his website as a provided service, he refused, saying "It will only make you peel."

Dr.Comite is one of the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctors I have ever met. He has treated me and my family for many years . He is caring and always follows up . He is an expert in his field of dermatology. I recommend him and his staff without reservation.

Dr. Comite has been my dermatologist since I first moved to New York City a year ago, and I could not be more pleased. As someone who has had skin ailments since childhood, I have seen a number of dermatologists throughout the years and Dr. Comite is easily the most thorough and impressive. His clear expertise is very calming and I feel like I am always in the best hands. His entire office is polite and very accommodating. I could not recommend Dr. Comite enough!

Dr Comite has been my dermatologist for the past 4 years. He takes every single visit and patient seriously. He has a phenomenal bedside manner, he takes the time to explain and outline your visit. I would recommend anybody in the city to see Dr. Comite as he is up to date and into an educated in the field.
