Dr. Ashfield is an excellent doctor. He performed my husband's surgery - came to talk to the family following the operation and explained everything. Very thorough in his follow up of patients. He is extremely personable, knowledgeable and he really listens to his patients and answers all questions and deals with concerns as they arise. We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Ashfield and only wish there were more like him. Would highly recommend this doctor!!!

Have suffered many kidney stones, but never really had a doctor who was concerned until I was referred to Dr Ashfield. He is a caring Dr who doesn't mind taking the time to explain everything to me. He has gone out of his way on several occasions to help me through pain filled days. His secretary is very helpful and obliging as well. Great team. Excellent Physician. Highly recommended.

Dr. Ashfield has performed surgery on my preschooler twice as well as in office consultations over the last five years. We were given the option five years ago of having a urologist at the IWK where my newborn was a patient for several months, or Dr. Ashfield at home hosptial. Our family doctor assured us we would not be disappointed with the decision to have Dr. Ashfield treat our son. I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ashfield for all he has done for us, and I would recommend him to anyone I know. very knowledgeable, excellent bedside manner and very reassuring!

I would recommend this Doctor to everyone. The results of my surgery was 100% He is one on the best Doctors ever. I wish there were more of him so we would not have to wait so long to get in to see them.

Dr. Ashfield was amazing with my husband's surgery and talking with both of us when needed. Great bedside manner and genuine compassion for patients with a little humour to make it all a little light hearted! Highly recommend him.

VERY DISAPPOINTED,WITH THIS DR,HE AND DR WHELANS SECRETARIES NEED A KIDNEY STONE AND ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENTS,DR ASH FIELD WAS AMAZED AT THE SIZE OF THE STONE ,THE PAIN WAS BEYOND ANY THING U CAN IMAGINE,HE TOLD ME I COULD CALL HIM ANY TIME ,NOT SO, POLITICS AND COVERING UP FOR BUDDIES IN THE OFFICE,DID U NOT SEE THE WORD TUMOUR IN THE CAT SCAN,U WASHED YOUR HANDS,U ARENT WHO I THOUGHT U WERE,ITS BEING INVESTIGATED,U LFT ME FOR TWU DAYS WITH A DARNING NEEDLE IN MY SIDE,NOW REFUSE TO ANSWER THE CONSULT,KARMA IS A ****,ITLL BE OK DR ASHFIELD,WHEN THE DR RETURNS FROM VACATION,HELL REMOVE THE STONE THEN.HOPE WE CAN MANAGE YOUR PAIN

I haven't often felt inclined to recant an opinion that I've expressed, but I'm about to do so now. I am the author of the statement made on 4/5/11 re: an infection following a cystoscopy. That statement was based on misinformation - and my angst. I now know that I did not have an infection, so my assessment was unjust and unkind. Since then, I've had surgery and follow-up care - provided by Dr. Ashfield. He kept me informed and involved in the decision-making throughout. I have to say that I found him to be very competent and, as a bonus, very approachable ... and what more could you want from your doctor ??

Dr Ashfield removed a kidney and a bouncing baby grapefruit sized tumor along with it. His knowledge, bedside manner and professionalism was very thorough and genuine.
