Dorothy helped me through a very difficult time in my life. She provided support and practical ways to deal with my anxiety and depression. She helped me to take control of the thoughts I had instead of just handing out medication. I appreciate a solution that is applicable and useful.

Absolutely terrible. She blames the person who is seeking help. She has no compassion. If you are suicidal, do not go see her, she'll make you feel worse.
This psychologist is working in a geographic area where she is one of few, she has contracts with several different government agencies. There are no other options for a registered psychologist for most of northern BC. Look elsewhere.

Saw her a while back about a personal issue i was dealing with. She was not helpful at all, was very judgemental and kept falling asleep during our sessions!

I found Dr. Ryan to be a tell it like it person. You are there for a reason. You get 55 minutes to lay it out there. If you are looking for 10 minutes of sugar coating before you get to the root then I suggest you don't seek counselling.

Seemed to be falling asleep in our sessions. And I didn't feel like she really cared enough, she offered a quick fix, but didn't help us solve deeper issues.

I would not recommend anyone to see Dorothy. She was critisizing and very unhelpful. I also had sessions with her in which she was falling asleep. Very unprofessional.

If she could actually keep her eyes open during the sessions maybe she could have been helpful. Absolutely horrible. Would not recommend her to anyone!

Dorothy tends to mother too much in that she influences her patients to join what is a religious cult of people very dependent on her. I wanted help with relationships particularly with my adopted daughter who was acting out and treating me badly.I was depressed. Dorothy advised me to break contact because" you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him/her drink" . That undervalues education and rehabilitation. You can't make "the horse" drink , but you can make him /her thirsty and desirous or curious about water. I stuck with my daughter and she is a happy woman today with three children.

Dr Ryan is NOT a psychiatrist you guys, she is an excellent "psychologist" there is a big diff. here. she will be greatly missed.
