Dorothy is like a "tell it like it is" mother. She has helped me time and again and is always there when I need her.

Although Dorothy is effective, I also found her to sometimes be judgemental and impatient, qualities that could compound the problems of clients in severe crisis. However, Dorothy was a real help to me. The case of my daughter was a different story. Dorothy referred my daughter to her assistant who essentially labelled me a neurotic mom whose neurosis was creating problems for my daughter. Had I accepted that theory, which thankfully I did not, my daughter would not have received the treatment that Dorothy's office could not provide. We went on to get my daughter effective help in Edmonton. Thank goodness I did not accept the diagnosis - I was annoyed! It is important to keep in mind that therapists have areas of expertise and if you are not getting results with one, move on to someone else who may be more suited to helping you.

love dorothy - she doesn't mix words or give you excuses. she tells you what you NEED to hear - like it or not. However - don't think she doesn't have empathy or is very considerate - I found her to have a wonderful heart. Didn't waste my time or hers
