After reading multiple reviews I can relate to several of the experience patients have posted. 1) Self advocating. 2) Reports gone missing on his computer??? Important imagine results or test, lab results being skipped over and not reported to the patient by the doctor. Misdiagnosing patients.
I would have to agree he was once a very good knowledgable doctor in his younger years . and someone you could go have a beer with as a person in terms of his personality. However, somewhere along the way it all went south very quickly. You have to ask you self why has there not been any disciplinary action taken against this doctor. Have his patients not complained about him to CPSO?? A real head scratcher or do they just save themselves the time and effort of being a witness at a tribunal and leave his practice and find a new more knowledgable family doctor to save their life.

To the writer of March 21/2022...I fail to understand your meaning "advocate for myself in ways I never should have had to do". Quite frankly, if "Lenny" was your Dad's hockey buddy, I'm surprised he was your doctor. I did find though at the end of my Dr./patient
relationship with him, I wasn't receiving results from tests, not that there was anything serious. Another Dr. whom I was seeing for neck pain knew I was having pain in my shoulder. He ordered an MRI which revealed a lot of problems. I wound up having shoulder replacement. Not Dr. K's fault..he just didn't order an MRI.
Dr. Kuwahara has been a G.P. since 1981...which is a long time. Maybe he's becoming tired., or just simply needs to slow down a little. I'm grateful for all the years he was my doctor. More should be like him.

Dr. Kuwahara was my doctor from the time I was born until 6 months ago. He made me advocate for myself in ways I never should have had to. He had really great quality of care when I was young but now that he only works part-time, something he doesn't advertise, it's gone downhill. I think he's going to retire soon. Oh also he was my dad's hockey buddy and he just has a very old school attitude about mental health. I really like him as a person and he was a great doctor when I was young, but I got a new doctor recently and he doesn't treat me the way Lenny did.

He has been my doctor over 40 years and he is very patient, thorough and listens to his clients. He has always provided the professionalism service and knowledge to me I wish all doctors were the same. He does have a large client list and getting an appointment can sometimes be an issue if it is an urgent matter. I would recommend him if he is taking any new patients.

Dr. Kuwahara has been my doctor for many years, & I'm so grateful to him for his thoroughness,
professionalism, knowledge & guidance. When I first moved out of the city, I got a different G.P., which turned out not to be what I wanted or needed in a doctor., & I then asked to return to Dr. Kuwahara's practise & he took me back willingly. 4 years have passed, but unfortunately for me, the drive to Toronto has become too stressful especially during inclement weather. While the weather is much nicer now, the drive is still too stressful (2hrs each way). This has necessitated me to find yet again another Family Doctor& I have been successful in doing so.
I will truly miss Dr. Kuwahara & his receptionist Susan. It has been a very long & pleasant Dr/patient relationship & I will be forever grateful to have had such a wonderful doctor who has provided me with excellent healthcare. For those of you who also appreciate him, I hope he never retires, but the time will come...maybe in a few years.
"Dr. K"..if you are reading this...I can't thank you enough. I wish you health, happiness & all good things life may bring you. You are a real credit to your profession.

I have been going to Dr K. Since the early 80's. I was one of his first patients. He has been there through the good and the bad times. He has never failed in getting me through my medical and personal needs. He is an amazing doctor and person.

Have been going to Dr K for 30 years. All 3 of my children go to him as well. We absolutely love him & Susan. Never feel rushed, always takes time to explain and answer questions which is something you do not see anymore anywhere. Will be a very sad day when he retires which I hope will not be for a long time
