WARNING: THIS MAN HAS NO DIGNITY.
If you're referred to him for an insurance assessment REFUSE and ask for a real doctor. Anyone else will do but this execrable POS.
Do yourself a favor and check his record and disciplinary actions from CPSO.
Worthless doctor and absolute despicable and disgusting human being.

Dr Kirsh is knowledgeable in regards to chronic pain but struggles with mental health issues in conjunction with pain. Makes in appropriate comments such as ‘many people with chronic pain don’t have deprrssion’ in minimizing my struggles. Once I became more informed I now know that most people with chronic pain also have mental health issues as a result. He is untrustworthy and manipulated situations to suit his beliefs. Would say he is more of a rehab specialist for pain but struggles with the chronicity of it and becomes frustrated. He reports suffering from severe headaches and transfers his experiences onto his patients in that he thinks everyone should be able to function as he does which we all know is not the reality for many.

This Dr will make you lose faith in mental health progress and the mental health movement Manning any progress. Very childish and not a bright man.

I would like to thank Dr. Kirsh for his time, patience, and support during a difficult time. My contact with Dr. Kirsh began thru Chedoke Pain Clinic day program in 1999 (WSIB), and continued with individual counseling and a weekly group until I was able to function again without the support. He had the patience of a Saint - He continued to work with me even though I barely spoke. I know my silence frustrated him on a number of occasions, but he always gave me the choice to continue if I was getting something from the experience. Thru this journey, I was able to change my approach to dealing with the issues. I finally understood that to be mentally healthy and to stay mentally healthy over the long haul you need the love and support of other people and that this is what mentally healthy people do without a second thought. (It has been 18 years since my contact with the Clinic ended, but the rewards for being there are evident in all my successes).

Brian Kirsh needs to understand there's real people in his office, often with people that have very severe mental illnesses.

He doesn't have control over his emotions, he displays anger and moves his chair backwards when you say anything he doesn't agree with. He is not emotionally intelligent, a shame as that's a basic skill to have to even begin to empathize and heal people.

His body language is very erratic, at several points during our conversations, he had his foot on the chair resting his cheek on his knee looking at the ground. I've never seen another adult do that, and certainly not one thats a "professional". That language tells the patient, his heart isn't really interested in helping people. I knew from the first meeting I wasn't going to disclose personal details that were contributing to my negative health as it seemed like spilling your heart out to a McDonalds drive through menu.

Please do not harm yourself by going to this person.

When he keeps saying "What is it you want me to do for you?" on several occasions, it's like a brain surgeon asking the patient how he should operate on them, very scary and disappointing to say the least.

I could go on but do I really need to, these examples alone should demonstrate to steer clear of this individual, I will not refer to him as a Doctor.
