Fred has been my doctor for over 30 years. He's a delight to visit, as he is knowledgeable and happy to engage in discussion about whatever you like. He'll try to talk you out of getting unnecessary tests, but will relent if it's very important to you. He is a very ethical guy to whom family is important, and whose primary motivator is clearly not money. This place is not run like a business, where you make appointments weeks in advance and then are expected to wait and say thank you; at Spadina Health Centre you'll be seen on short notice and on time. The staff are fantastic - polite and professional. Dr Fred unreservedly recommended.

Fred is the doctor for everyone in my family and we all think he is terrific. Fred is caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable and respectful and we have never had to wait for an appointment! I wouldn't consider going anywhere else for our family doctor.

Quite good sense of humour. I am not qualified to rate his knowledgeability but this stupid form forced me to put a rating there anyway, so I put a "4". Fred has never seemed to me to stint in his comments/suggestions/admission of uncertainty when that last is called for.

Perhaps he was young at the time and I hope he's improved his practise. He had my type of politics and a casual but intelligent demeanour. But he was incredibly deficient medically. He did not know how to administer anti-allergy shots and kept increasing the dosages even though my reaction to them was becoming increasingly more significant. I only got proper treatment for my allergies when I went to a conservative albeit perfunctory physician. Think twice about bedside manner and politics. What I learned: opt for someone who loves to read medicine in their spare time, not politics.

Fred Freedman has been my doctor since 1982. I trust him totally. He has a great sense of humour and he is a very warm and honest person. I also love the fact that he and his colleagues practise in an unhurried manner, thanks to the way they've structured their clinic to pay themselves (I gather, fairly modest) salaries rather than rely on fee-for-service OHIP billings. That means I seldom wait longer than 2 or 3 minutes, and it's never hard to get an appointment, even on short notice. The Spadina Health Clinic is a godsend, and Fred Freedman is one of its mainstays.

Fred was my doctor from 1973 till 2002. Unfortunately he did not seem to take me seriously at times, therefore I now see a doctor that listens to my needs and explains things in layman's terms.

Dr Fred has been my doctor for about 30 yrs. He's smart and funny and knows when to roll his eyes and when to refer to a specialist. He's now my baby's doctor and even though she doesn't like him because he doles out the shots, I have every confidence.

Fred's been my physician for almost 30 years and I hope he'll remain so for the next 30 or until one of us drops. I enjoy Fred's sense of humor, which he will appropriately resort to using to admonish me for being late for an appointment or for my foolish behaviour in getting myself into trouble, again. I also value Fred's advice and the fact that he doesn't resort to the easy way out by simply writing a prescription and sending me off. Fred is a caring practitioner and manager of patient health and well-being and a prudent steward of specialist procedures and health care expenditures, a fine balance of individual and societal needs that works for me. If Fred ever becomes a domestique and joins le Tour de France or the Paris-Roubaix, his patients' and the medical discipline's loss will be the sport of cycling's gain. Ted G.

Dr. Freeman is polite and competent. His office doesn't overbook patients: he is ready to see me at the time my appointment was made. He returns calls and is available for emergencies. I appreciate the cartoon taped to the ceiling over his examining table. I have been going to him for over 20 years and found him to be kind and efficient, with a good sense of humour. The specialists to whom I have been sent have been competent professionals. His medical ethics impress me.
