Dr. Carey Cullinane is the Best! I was blessed to have had her as my oncologist surgeon when I was diagnosed with Stage One breast cancer almost three years ago. Being told that you have breast cancer can be quite a harrowing experience but Dr. Cullinane put me at ease as she is very professional, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate; just a really wonderful person, doctor and surgeon! Also, it is understandable why she was the director of the Todd Cancer Research at Long Beach Memorial. Dr. Cullinane has an exceptional nurse named Patti, who made it all possible for me to have Dr. Cullinane as my surgical oncologist especially when my own physician could not provide a referral of a surgeon that would be in my healthcare network. This is why these doctor reviews are very beneficial!

You will not find a better doctor to put your trust in. Dr. Cullinane is extremely professional, is an expert in her field and a is very caring person. She is patient with your questions and seeks to ease your worries with facts. I would, and unfortunately have, recommend her to any patient newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

Dr. Cullinane performed a double mastectomy for my wife, who was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. From the very first meeting she was attentive, knowledgeable and compassionate. Her explanations of such a variety of complex information were understandable and candid, which was really comforting at a time when the flood of data became overwhelming. On the day of surgery she was confident and reassuring, and immediately following the surgery she provided a concise assessment of the procedure. Her post surgery follow up was thorough and we found that she had the clout to get other procedures scheduled when we needed prompt support. We both feel very blessed to have had her lead our team.

I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in 2006. From the get-go, Dr. Cullinane put me at ease with her open, caring communication. She and Dr. Jay Granzow "tag teamed" in a 16 hour mastectomy/DIEP flap reconstruction. I am now 8 years out, and can honestly say that I rarely think about it as my results are amazingly "normal" looking. Dr. Cullinane is the best. I was blessed to be her patient!!!!

Carey is the best. You cant get any better, She is skilled, compassionate and would be your friend even if she was not your doctor. On top of being on the cutting edge of cancer research, she takes in the whole person, not just the medical condition. I was so lucky to find Dr. Cullinane

I agree with the other two reviews. I was diagnosed with stage I breast cancer in 2007. Dr. Cullinane drew out my family tree and diagrammed the cancers, then arranged for BRCA testing. She did my bilateral mastectomies. She is very caring and knowledgeable, and has her patient's best interest at heart. She has continued to follow me every six months, and I look forward to my appointments with her. I have referred two friends to her, and both of them love her as well.

Dr. Cullinane is knowledgeable, warm, caring, patient, compassionate, works with a great team of doctors, and is willing to answer all of my questions and test results. She is one of the only breast surgeons in the US that also specializes in cancer genetics. I would highly recommend her!!!
