Dr. Brownlee was instrumental in finding and treating a severe nerve injury I had. If it wasn't for his expertise and state of the art MRI I would likely be where I was for too long. His referral eventually led to treatment and my Life back, Thank you Richard!

Dr Brownlee was a great doctor. I felt he was confident in what he was doing. I am 5 wks post op and feel I am past my expectations. I am following the doctors instructions very closely. I feel that is key. His bed side manners were great. He explained everything to me.

I have seen multiple specialist this one is by far one of the worst. Just a CROOK, with a website full of false hopes and fake advertising so don’t believe it. Barely gives you eye contact. $600.00 for a 20 minute apt to be told nothing can be done to help me. Oh wait maybe this, but then never receives a phone call from said referral. How does he sleep even taking money from extremely disabled people and offering no help. Just a CROOK.

I first encountered Dr Brownlee shortly after he started at Royal Inland Hospital, I had heard he was coming but he had not arrived before i left on maternity leave. 7 days after the birth of my last son i had an intercerebral hemmorrhage which required surgery to remove the blood clot from my brain. i have little doubt that it was his skill as well as devine intervention that saved my life. he was always very kind and humble in any encounteres i have had with him and was one of the few professiuonals on my rehab team to offer encouragement and not pass judgement on me. including my family doctor at the time who has since retired.

I travelled all the way from Victoria to Kamloops. I am a former ICU nurse, and wanted to get a private surgeon's opinion on a possible cervical spinal myelopathy (CSM), because it's a long wait to see my regular neurosurgeon here (I had previous neck surgery). I had travelled to his clinic the month prior for a flexion/extension c-spine MRI which showed mild cervical disc degeneration on most levels, 2 mildly bulging discs, one is contacting and compressing the cord mildly (which would be what is causing my symptoms). I was really concerned because I had a recent decline in strength in all 4 limbs, and cannot even drive any longer (I'm late 40s). He pulled up my MRI images, said it looks fine, did not even zoom in to look in detail. I literally pulled out my cell phone and pulled up a picture that I took of my MRI (different view) that showed a disc protrusion. I had already view my images at home, could easily see disc material protruding near my cord, as the radiologist report had stated. He shrugged his shoulders "well, I don't know what that view is of". He said it's all normal. . He passed my symptoms off as "fatigue". I am not fatigued. I have weakness, and other concerning neurological signs, such as increased reflexes and paresthesias. He has a "nice" bedside manner, but was not helpful in the slightest. What a waste of a trip. I knew going into this that his ratings were so-so, but figured it's worth a try. Perhaps he has a specialty in something related to neurosurgery but I certainly wouldn't waste your time if you have something serious that not blatantly obvious on MRI, because he's not going to dig deeper. I would recommend the MRI services but not the surgeon.

I had to drive to Kamloops from Vancouver to see Dr. Brownlee. I couldn't get my procedure done in Vancouver. Would have to wait a year. The visit was very Professional.
