This amazing Doctor saved my life. He is an incredible surgeon, excellent bedside manner, knowledgeable and his staff are very supportive. Highly recommend, you are lucky if he is your surgeon.

thought he could help me and get me out of pain but i was wrong about this specialist !! not all neurosurgeons are back pain free doctors ! hole this next one will help me get fixed !

He did what he could he thought it was okay to cut a skull open three times in total. Idk why he didn’t just send my grandma to radiation in the first place. She has gone and still is going though years and years of pain. She had radiation t early this year and it actually receded her brain tumour. Why didn’t he just send her to get radiation first?

On Feb. 14/2011 my surgery was canceled at the Foothills Hospital due to an earlier patient bleeding out.
On April 1/2011 , Dr. Omahen operated on my L 4-5 to relieve my sciatica.
Minutes after waking up, I knew something wasn’t right. My whole body felt different. But he discharged me anyway. The following day I was in Emergency with an irregular heartbeat. A day later I was seen by a heart specialist who discovered that Dr. Omahen had cut my aorta during surgery, didn’t notice his mistake and closed me up. Almost immediately another vein was created to get blood back to my heart. Had this gone untreated, I would have died.
Dr. Greg Samis, A great vascular surgeon at the PLC corrected my new condition known as an aortocaval fistula with an aortal stent. This was followed by several angioplasties, blood thinners, baby aspirin for the rest of my life and the better part of the year recovering.
There was never a follow-up or any concern from Dr Omahen’s office.
I would like to think these doctors are reprimanded in some form or another for their incompetence. And I don’t mean moving them to another province. Maybe send them back down to the little league for more practice.
I’ve had enough surgeries to know that there are no guarantees. But I expect the best treatment from the very best doctors. Dr. Omahen didn’t fall in this category at the time.
It been good to hear your success stories and he did however correct my sciatica.

Had a lumbar diskectomy. Dr. Omahen was very thorough and polite, while explaining much of the pre and post procedure of the surgery itself.

I struggled with debilitating pain from TN. Dr. Omahen performed my MVD surgery in Jan. ‘22. Right from the beginning I found him to be very approachable, knowledgeable, and understanding during my phone and office visits. His explanation of the procedure was clear and he was very thorough explaining all the pros and cons of having it. He also took the time to answer ALL my questions and his sense of humour was greatly appreciated! I felt very comfortable having him as my neurosurgeon and after the surgery while I was recovering in the hospital, he checked in on me daily. I feel very fortunate that this highly skilled neurosurgeon moved to Kelowna General Hospital when he did, and I highly recommend him. I am still recovering but I feel like I have my pain free life back!

I was born with, and later injured, a transitional S1 vertebrae. I waited for a year to be assessed by Dr. Omahen and it was so worth it. He was very clear and direct with his procedure and took the time to explain exactly how it works. He never made me feel like I was just another face in his office, nor did he push/ influence me a certain way. Very facilitating and welcoming. There is a reason his credentials are so vast and why he's successful.

Dr .O removed my brain tumor 4 years ago.
One of the nicest doctors around. Took the time to explain everything and I never felt like he was pushing me out the door to see the next patient
Bed side manner is awesome
