Dr.Shaikh was so helpful. He explained things in ways we could understand easily. He was extremely thorough and very kind and caring. Took his time talking with us. We didn’t feel rushed and he listened to our concerns. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a specialist in this field.

I waited 4 months to see him. Spoke with staff prior to getting referral to ensure that he would see me for osteoarthritis, not requiring injections. Within 30 seconds of my arrival, his nurse Christina said that he is not taking new patients and they are only an injection clinic. Dr Shaikh came to see me and although he was apologetic, he is now only running an injection clinic (and probably keeping existing patients). I asked about the other rheumatologists there, but his responses and Christina's were contradictory about whether they would take me on. So disappointing! Lisa, the office person, needs to be much more clear when speaking with potential patients - this is now an injection clinic.

Dr Shaikh has given me hope when my last rheumatologist said I was at the end of my rope. He's an excellent Dr and takes time to thoroughly explain things even if he needs to "dumb" it down for people to understand. I miss Silvana, she was amazing and so kind and Lisa (I believe her name is) is also kind and helpful.

The research lady - she should never go into a room with a patient. If the Dr says he has to run out for a meeting, ask him if you can wait to see him or rebook. This lady will dismiss what you say and gaslight you. She will basically say whatever you are saying is caused by you when it's proven side effects. She will also tell you that it's not true about a medication because her and some patients from the practice are also on it and doing a study while on it and not one of them have it. No one person has the same experience on the same meds. One individual may experience something that someone else may not. Protect yourself and don't let her in. I was going to talk to the secretary but she walked in so I got my next appointment and left. I called my mom and cried because of how she treated me.

Everyone was very friendly and the doctor was gentle and explained what he would be doing. His nurse came in first and explained the procedure to me. Everyone was very nice.

Great Doctor . I have not had a gout attack since first meeting him over a decade ago . He is a brilliant person , never satisfied with yesterday's medical approach if a better one is out there . Always learning and always moving foreward for the sake of himself and his patients . He speaks to me more as a friend at times than his patient .
If he is late getting to me I am sure that the patient before me needed extra time . Really good doctors give more time to those who need it and I accept and applaud them for that . Dave Weaver

And his staff member Silvana has always been so helpful she goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable
Her pleasant voice and care she takes
She goes above and beyond
I wish all Dr offices would be so lucky to have a staff member as her

Dr Shaikh was extremely courteous, took time to escort me from the waiting to his clinic office to discuss my issues. Dr Shaikh was very knowledgable and explained in detail of his diagnosis and the treatment options. I would highly recommend his services.

The most valuable trait in a doctor of any kind is one that takes the time to listen to his patients and help them to understand the process/ procedures to make them feel completely comfortable and heard. Dr. Shaikh does just that! He was kind and thoughtful in his approach and works hard to make sure his patients are getting the right treatment for each of their individual cases. The best rheumatologist in the Niagara Region!
