Well, to say I’m extremely happy with my results thus far is an understatement! Dr. Shaikh took the time to listen to my needs and treated me accordingly. Today, I have less pain and actually feel like I will get my life back on track! His staff were so lovely to deal with and answered all my questions. Super happy patient here :)

Dr. Sheikh is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in his patients. Each time I see him, I feel that he will do all he can to ensure my health and well-being. His receptionist (Sylvana) is friendly and kind and always does her best to help when any scheduling issues arise.

This comment will apply to people with harder to diagnose conditions. I had heard great things about Dr. Shaikh but was very disappointed. His resident took a thorough history, did an exam, and told me that I did not have a spondylarthropathy even though my history clearly pointed to one. Dr. Shaikh came in after this and agreed with her in such a way it was clear he had decided on this opinion before even seeing me. Their only recommendation was for me to take an anti-depressant for pain, even though that would do nothing to help with inflammation, which was well-documented and of longstanding. They offered no follow-up plan and when my family doctor advocated for me to see him again to revisit his opinion, he put me back at the bottom of his wait list even though he had said if I needed to see him again he would do so. I requested a new referral to a rheumatologist who promptly diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis (a spondylarthropathy) and has prescribed me the right medication to treat it. The take-away: if you feel blown off by Dr. Shaikh, don't give up. Find another rheumatologist and try again!

Dr. Shaikh is one of the kindest, smartest, men that I have ever met. To have him as a physician is a gift. I feel taken care of, cared for, heard. He is clearly passionate about his field and about good health in general. He is personable and genuine…. Such a treasure

Honestly, I had a ganglion cyst on my wrist for many years and was told to leave it alone, it’ll be fine.

I finally gained the confidence (given by my peers) to have it drained, and it was such an easy procedure, I wish I had it done sooner.

I have been treated by Dr. Shaikh for the past two years. He has been remarkable in his treatment, follow up, explanation of the disease and thorough at each appointment. On my first visit it was evident that he had reviewed my history form my referring physician and following a very complete physical, gave me a very complete explanation of the disease, his care plan and the expected outcome. He was kind, understanding and open to any questions that I had, although they were few, as his explanations were so complete. I this is the caliber of doctor that we are attracting to the Niagara Health System, I feel that we are in extremely good hands.Thank you Dr. Shaikh.

Have been going to Dr. Shaikhk 10+ years. He is so knowledgeable & very kind. Takes time with his patients and explains what your condition is (in terms that a lay person understands),what sort of treatment you require and follow ups when needed. His staff, in my humble opinion,, are great. If I have a problem I just call there & they inform him and are quite good at getting back to you. I would recommend him to anyone!
