My spouse was formerly employed by Dr. Frederick Li until September 2023, and I feel it is important to share my observations during that time. While I recognize the complexities of a medical environment, certain aspects raised concerns.

Upon picking up my spouse, I occasionally noticed confidential patient documents left in accessible areas such as the public hallway. Though my spouse mentioned this was a practice for document retrieval, it struck me as a potential breach of privacy.

Additionally, I observed surgical equipment being placed in non-secured areas the day before procedures, posing a risk to sterilization protocols. This raised concerns about potential contact with cleaning staff or compromised sterility.

A distressing incident involved my spouse assisting an operation on an intoxicated patient, leaving a lasting emotional impact. When he informed the Dr the patient was intoxicated, the Dr apparently replied “yes, she was last time as well”. The Dr went into see the patient and asked what drugs they took. The patient replied “just weed and alcohol”. He described the experience as akin to working on a lifeless body, ultimately leading to his decision to resign due to the profound toll on his mental health.

Moreover, I overseen a text from one of his coworkers describing the doctor as "wild and crazy." It was surprising to learn that my spouse, with no prior medical training, was immediately involved in assisting surgeries from day one - something that is not allowed under BC law. He described the challenges of navigating procedures, emphasizing the gravity of the responsibility.

In response to these observations, my spouse has filed complaints with the Ministry and Civil complaints will follow. My intention is to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to guarantee the well-being of both staff and patients. As of writing this review Dr Li has declined to respond to these allegations other then to have his lawyers try to intimidate my spouse by saying he breached confidentiality and that any evidence against Dr Li belongs to them regardless of the lack of any non disclosure agreement.

Worst dentist ever! We lost our father to cancer because of his mistake. He diagnosed a hole in the roof of his mouth as an "infection". He pulled out ALL his top implants and had us going to his office in the thick of the pandemic 1-2 times a week for 2 months. He kept doing surgeries to fill the hole and was surprised when it kept opening up. Finally I had to ask him to refer us to a specialist. The oral surgeon was horrified to learn about all the surgeries that were done and did a biopsy right away! He passed away a year later. Avoid this doctor at all costs!!
P.S. He's just a regular dentist and not an implant specialist. Don't be fooled by the sign that says "College of Implantology".

An expert in the field of implants and teacher to other dentists, Dr. Li is truly a treasure. None of us want to have dental surgery, but if it is necessary, this is the place to go. Both he, and his staff are skilled, efficient and professional. Highly recommended.

I made an appointment for a consultation on work I put off for years. Dr. Li explained four different options and the pros and cons of each. I was very comfortable with the consultation and asked if a procedure could be done that day. Dr Li was able to accomodate me and I am thrilled with the results.I am very pleased with the information and care given and especialy pleased with the end result.

Did not diagnose correctly, did not listn to the patient and hastily pulled all my root cannalled teeth out telling me all root canaled teeth are infected. Nothing artificially made is as good as natural teeth, so any consihentious doctor should give careful consideration before pulling natural teeth out even if they are the best implant dentist they should take the time to get to the root of the problem, in a conservative manner until they are sure of the diagnosis and the patients condition before taking drastic measures. It is also not acceptable that after the fact they do not accept responsibility or correct the problem they created. Pulling teeth is not the right or the only way to deal with infection. If a condition is not clear a humble doctor can consult a specialist or someone who can see things differently to ensure the best course of action and the health of the patient is always a priority.
