Had GERD and he performed Fundoplication with laparoscopic, it has been over 11 years and have had no problems.

Nov 2016 Dr Luoma along with his colleagues Dr. Dean and Dr. Jugnauth and their team are simply the best. If you need thoracic surgery in B.C. and have a choice I strongly suggest you choose Kelowna!

Jan 2015 this Angel saved my life along with his good colleague Dr. Anand Jugnauth. i have nothing but good things to say about these two amazing thoracic surgeons. top men, if you ask me. anyone needing lung surgery in B.C and have 2 choices (Vancouver or Kelowna) i highly highly suggest you choose Kelowna. outstanding quality of care and a top team.

I had to get a biopsy done to determine why I had swollen lymphodes. Dr. Luoma's bedside manner is so kind. I felt very comfortable having him operate & he did an excellent job! The staff also showed extreme care & kindness as well. My operation was scheduled for 12:30a.m. but they got me in at 11:30 so was very happy as we had to travel that day back to our home. Thank you to Dr. Lumoma & his staff!

I attended consultation only for surgery with Andrew, however, he made me feel comfortable & unrushed, taking all the time I needed to ask questions & gave me a detailed explanation of the procedure to be performed. There are 4 thoracic surgeons on staff @ KGH & he couldn't guarantee that he'd be the one on duty for my operation. Very compassionate & down to earth man.

In September of 2009 I had my esophagus removed due to cancer by the BC Thoracic Surgeons of Kelowna. Dr. Luoma performed the surgery on me...so I understand as I never met him until several months after the operation. The whole operation and nine day stay in the hospital was completely painless and the surgery was a complete success with no post surgery problems. My one visit with Dr Luoma was a follow up to the operation, and my only recollection of this visit was his comment that this cancer had a very low percentage of successfully being stopped....which had been stressed before the operation by Dr. Jugnauth. Dr. Luoma also pointed out that I should refrain from chewing gum...air in stomach..bad. His performance as a surgeon was great however, because I had no problems after the surgery. A patient manner somewhat like Doc Martin on the Knowledge Network.

From the time this surgeon operated on me, I never saw him again until he said it was time to leave the hospital. It wasn't time as I was rushed back by ambulance for another 7 days. I would never deal with him again. The other two docs in the office are great, but this man nearly killed me.

I had Dr. Luoma for four surgeries and he was excellent and very up front and very good to explain. He was very willing to share with family. Dr. Luoma is very caring and takes his profession very serious. I would highly recommend him.
