Holds a place in my heart! He became my paediatric cardiologist because of a complicated heart when I was 3 years old - now 50! He even visited me in Toronto Sick Kids Hospital for my first open-heart surgery because he was attending a family wedding near by. It meant so much to my parents. Thanks for my life!!

I have nothing but LOVE and GRATITUDE for Dr. Tyrrell!! He bacame my pediatric cardiologist when I was only 3days old, and I am now 34 years old-he saved my life!! My mom told me stories about how great he was with me, and her, and how he was a no nonsense type of doctor, but spoke to her like the scared and devastated mom that she was, not in medical terms that she wouldn't understand. When I was pregnant with my daughter, he even requested permission to do an ultrasound, just to make sure that my daughter didn't have a heart condition, too. Unfortunately, she mooned him, as he put it Lol! He cares about his patients, and has a passion and a wealth of knowledge in what he does. I wish he could still be my cardiologist!

Amazing Doctor. He has been a wonderful cardiogoist for our daughter through her check-ups and minor surgeries. He always explained what was going on with her condition and was very upfront with us as well as caring.

We are so lucky to have him! He & Dr. K did a heart cath on my daughter and I trusted them 110%. They were professional, and right at her side when we needed them. The best in Canada imo.

This doctor saved my now 21 year old son's life when he was only 10 days old. He knows his stuff, his bedside manner is no nonsense but you know he is only 1 of 2 in Sask. and has no time to frill a life and death situation over for parents. He told us what was needed and that we didn't have time to cry about it, that was 21 years ago and he treated our son until he was 18 and moved on to an adult cardiologist. We trusted him with our boy and he came through for us. Love for this Doctor Tyrell! Saskatchewan is luck to have this doctor.

We are blessed to have Dr.Tyrell and Dr. Kakadekar in our lives. We owe our sons life to them and Dr. R. McKay. They are fabulous, and not just because our son had a great outcome, but even when things looked dire on more than one occasion, we knew he had the best people taking care of him.

My son has congenital heart disease and was first diagnosed by Dr. Tyrell and Dr. Duncan (who has since left SK.) when he was a couple of weeks old. Our son is now 17 and Dr. Tyrell still see's him. In our oppinion (and we have dealt with many extraordinary Dr.s in Sask., Alberta and in Phillidelphia, he is one of the best there is. Dosnt sugar coat anything, and thats how we like it! He is a very caring human being and has been a wonderful asset in the care of our son in the past, present and hopfully the future. Tracey Duncan...Moose Jaw, Sk.

He is the best in the country and has saved my daughter's life on numerous occasions. when living for a short time in another province and problems occured the Dr's there just said to take my child home and let her die. One visit to Dr T and her problem was found and solved. That was over 10 yrs ago. He is an extremely busy and knowledgeable Dr and even follows up on his patients well into their adult lived by keeping in close touch with their current Dr when they are beyond the pediatric age. Having Dr T in our lives has been a blessing.

I feel rather indifferent to this Doctor. Seems to be somewhat delayed in diagnosing a problem. Although he was very aware of our families' congential heart disease, including 2 of my nieces who had to have surgery before their 3rd birthday, as did myself and other family members, he was not all that concerned when my child presented with similar heart problems. Simply requested an ECG and told me that it was up to me to monitor it. The fact that our family history is filled with cardiac problems should have, and the fact that my child is still persenting with similar problems, further testing and monitoring by the hospital and physicians should have been done. Now, after a long thought-out process and debate, we have no other option but to go to Calgary for further investigation, or watch my child suffer continuously and find ourselves unable to d little to comfort our child.
