I started the process of repairing severe varicose veins in my left leg after that got worse after each of my 3 pregnancies.
My first visit for the consultation I waited over 1.5 hours to be seen. When I wentnto the front to ask about how much longer, the receptionist (middle aged African women with very short hair) barely looked up at me, and said "we're busy, I don't know." This was her attitude with me at every visit, I felt like a huge inconvience to her. Sadly, the rest of the staff was about the same. The nurse who took my blood pressure every visit, never spoke to me, just would stick her hand out to show she needed my arm, then when we were fine she would say "go sit in room ?, he'll be there soon". No one ever offered sympathy or a kind word.
My first impression of Dr Roulhac was that he seemed too busy and confident to take the time to really explain things. I hot about 5 minutes with him that day, and was told to wear compression pants for 3 months and come back. I was charged $70 (with great insurance) for that visit.
Each follow up visit was about the same. The front desk & the doctor did not communicate about my care!!!! Dr Rouhlac ounces called me to ask ME where we were in the process!
After I finally jumped all the hoops to get approval for have evlt surgery to repair both of the main "valves" in my left leg, I waited another few months because they did not send the request to my insurance like they said.
On the day of my first surgery, we arrived at 12:55 for a 1pm appt. The doors were locked, and the parking lot was empty. When I cslled the doctor, he said someone will be there soon. It was very unnerving on surgery day. I sat in the waiting room with NO communication as to what was going on, or when I should take my pre-surgery meds. After the surgery they wheeled me out to my husband with NO explanation to him about whether it went well, or follow up care.
Despite how nervous we felt after that we decided to go back rei says later to finish the surgery (second valve). Same exact scenario as thd first day in regards to no one being there and no explanation about the process. They took me back and spent the next 1.5 hours TRYING to get into the main vein behind my left knee. It was very painful, they didn't expldin anything, they never asked if I was feeling okay. The whole time the nurse played on her phone right in front of me, with get sterile gloves on! After a lot of trying & poking, Dr Rouhlac simply declares he can't do it because my veins are too small (I waited 9 months for this). Then they had me walk out to my husband (I had taken Valium), and again didn't tell him a thing!!!! When my husband heard my side of what happen the last 1.5 hours in the back, he immediately went back in and had a "word" with the doctor in regards to his care for his wife.
I was very sore, and the problem had not been fixed.
I couple days later I called to let them know I would be finishing my care somewhere else (in Cary, NC), they didn't even apologize and just said "okay". It was a horrible experience, I wish I hadn't wasted 9 months there. They were very unprofessional.
